Abstract: This paper proposes an Automatic Generation Control (AGC) scheme along with automatic voltage regulation under a deregulated system involving competing generation companies. The responses of the proposed system are studied with addition of different controllers. This paper mainly focuses on the study of the effect of the proposed system with the integration of RES. The simulation is done in MATLAB/SIMULINK R2013a. The simulation results of frequency and power responses in deregulated environment are presented. The model is designed in such a way that, the frequency deviation is controlled to a large extent, even for fluctuating load and with large disturbance in the system.

Abstract: This Research paper, contains the design and construction of a multi-action power transformer which in addition to its dual purpose of both stepping-up and stepping-down voltages, also performs sealing and cutting functions using the inductance/resistance heating principle. The multi-action power transformer is a three-in-one device that uses the principle of mutual inductance for its operation. It contains a primary winding, and two secondary windings with three outputs all depending on a common input supply to provide a step-up voltage of the range 220 V – 240 V and step-down voltages of the range 90 V – 110 V and 25 V – 50 V respectively. The device when tested with household electronic with 220V – 240V specification, functioned for all input voltages within 100 V – 180V range. Below 100V, the output was observed to be too low (< 135 V) and above 180V, the output was observed to be too high for use (>240 V). For household electronics with 110V specification, the device functioned well for input voltage range 220 V – 170V. Below 170V, the voltage was observed to be low (<85 V) and above 220 V, the output was observed to be too high (>110 V). The Sealing outlet however worked well for a wide range of voltages, 10V – 240V. The device, is highly effective for provision of standard voltages for commonly used household electrical equipment, polythene sealing for petty traders as well as provision of amplified voltage to be utilized by automatic voltage regulators.

Abstract: Engine control Unit (ECU) is an important part of modern engine. Telematics is one of the latest enhancements to the sophisticated electronic control mechanisms which aid us in extracting the greatest possible efficiency, utility and safety information from our vehicles. In a vehicles the size of the number of microcontrollers increases day by day. For example, luxury vehicles may have up to 100 on-board microprocessors in the near future. Automotive electronics has become a technology driven by competitive decisions. Overall complexity and dependency on software have increased over the period. So it is highly important to test and validate the performance and features of the ECU before deploying it in actual working environment. To generate the automated test environment for ECU. Before this manually testing was done which is time consuming and many of drawbacks in that testing. To Reduce the Testing efforts in Actual test environment, NI Test Stand and LabVIEW is used for the test automation that provide many of benefits. Well documented test results, Comprehensive execution of specified test. Compared with manual testing the verification of several variants in the same amount of time. Shorter testing intervals[1].

Abstract: Generating stations, transmission lines and the distribution systems are the main components of an electrical power system. Generating station and a distribution system are connected through transmission lines.A Power system network may suffer from faults, fault may occur on synchronous generator, bus bar, transmission line, transformer or load. It is important to take precaution for protection of  Power system network against faults.It is often seen that during experimentation in the laboratory, circuits are burned out due to excessive current and overload. To prevent this from happening we designed a low cost protection system against over load and excessive current, for this we used electro-magnetic relay in conjunction with IC-LM324 and a 555 timer and designed a circuit in which, when excessive current flows it get disconnected thus keeping the circuit safe.Since in the above circuit the relay has to reset manually after every tripping, we designed another circuit which is reset automatically using the same IC-LM324 and a 555 timer only this time 555 timer works as a pulse sequencer. This acts a phase shifter, which when overload trips and continue to work with the previous load before overload fault occurs by drawing supply from a different phase thus the circuit keeps on working even after fault occurs.

Abstract: The design and development of a water quality monitoring system, with the objective of notifying the user of the real-time water quality parameters. The system is able to measure physiochemical parameters of water quality, such as flow, pH, TDS and Turbidity. These physiochemical parameters are used to detect water contaminants. The sensors which are designed from first principles and implemented with signal conditioning circuits are connected to Arduino based measuring node, which processes and analyses the data. In this design, Raspberry pi is used for communication between the measuring node and notification node. The notification node presents the reading of the sensors and outputs an audio alert when water quality parameters reach unsafe levels. Various qualification tests are run to validate each aspect of the monitoring system. The sensors are shown to work within their intended accuracy ranges. The measurement node is able to transmit data via router to the notification node for Buzzer, LED, Solenoid Valve and Web server. The results demonstrate that the system is capable of reading physiochemical parameters, and can successfully process, transmit and display the readings.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the use of efficient software (Proteus ISIS Professional) in the design analysis and simulation of a QRP transceiver which consists of both a transmitter and a receiver for frequency modulation (FM) signals in enhancing communication via a radio frequency. This technology deploys the use of radio frequency (RF) signals. QRP transceiver is simply a device that transmits at a reduced (low) power. The distinguishing characteristic of this transceiver is that it was designed and then optimized for high performance. It is relatively easy to build something that works, but usually requires a great deal more effort to produce something that works really well. That effort has gone into this rig, and the result is a continuous wave (CW) transceiver which has the following characteristics: Keying and quiet transceiver operation, stable variable frequency oscillation (VFO) coverage, receiver incremental tuning (RIT), radio frequency (RF) output, and high performance direct-conversion receiver.

Abstract: Lately, the problems associated with the impact of an electromagnetic pulse of a high-altitude nuclear explosion (HEMP) on electronic and electric equipment have been debated a great deal in special technical literature. For more than a decade, dozens of government and military organizations in the US and Europe have been working intensively on this problem producing detailed bulky reports. However, so far the majority of engineers working in various civilian industries and, primarily, in the electric power industry, disregard this topic since they either are ignorant of HEMP or know it by hearsay. To change this situation, the author of this article decided to familiarize the engineers (primarily in the electrical power sector) with a contemporary view of HEMP.

Abstract: Narmada River is situated in central India and this river is considered an clamant source of electricity, irrigation and drinking water in Madhya Pradesh, on this river there is a huge five hydro power plant which produces 3470 MW power and this five plant is manufactured and operated by a different companies. We are working to growth of electricity using PSO's optimization technology in this paper. In Travel time and discharge, water storage, power generation is relayed between the water flow, if the travel time of water in the plot is corrected, then we can increase the electricity. Successfully using PSO and its variants in meta-horizontal optimization techniques, this problem has been solved.

Abstract: Ultra band technology could represent a revolutionary approach to wireless communication. In this paper a planar band notched bow-tie antenna is projected for UWB applications. The self-complementary principle has been applied to a planar triangular monopole antenna at the side of bending the Microstrip feed line. The antenna includes a wider band compared to the standard bow-tie antenna, complies with the UWB needs and it's directly matched to the SMA connective via 50 ohm Microstrip. This antenna includes a straight forward form that overcomes the sophisticated matching techniques exploitation baluns or electric resistance matching sections that are normally utilized in bow-tie antennas for widening their restricted bandwidths. Desired patch antenna style was simulated by exploitation ANSYS HFSS software system. The Substrate material used for making patch antenna is FR-4 with a Thickness of 1.6mm.

Abstract: In this paper a laboratory setup has been developed that mainly focuses on implementing the multi-functional numerical relay for the purpose of single phase online fault detection to protect the electrical equipment’s against overvoltage, over-current and under-voltage faults. The developed system is highly responsive, and user friendly. The fault parameters values were made adjustable by the use of dedicated on-board tactile switches. The system keeps on comparing the values of over/under-voltage and over-current with that of the reference current/voltage values and takes the decision of isolation in real-time by shutting down the relay circuit immediately if any of the reference limits would cross. Hardware prototype with LPC812 as core controller is built to validate the operation.

Abstract: In today’s world, undoubtedly semiconductor components are involved in every instrument right from toys to big control devices of big machinery. The use of semiconductor devices introduces harmonics in the system currently minimum 15% harmonics is observed for LT customer. The harmonics in distribution system gets propagated to transmission and generation system. The presence of harmonic in system causes maloperation of the protective devices resulting in power failure. In this paper review of three phase multipulse AC-DC converter (MPC) is presented. MPC are used for improvement of power quality for reduction of harmonics in ac mains and ripples in dc output.

Abstract: This plan proposes to develop an Electronic voting machine using Aadhaar database, which is a safe and secure system to avoid the misconception and false voting takes place in the elections.  Now the Government has recently linking various details such as smart card, bank accounts and now its linking even mobile number of each person to their Aadhaar database. At the time of aadhaar database enrolment process, our Government enrolled fingerprint, iris and various other information of the resident of India. So when Government attaches the voter identity to the aadhaar database, everyone can easily cast their votes easily using fingerprint authentication. So in this paper, voting process is done by providing aadhaar and fingerprint authentication with the control of low cost host PIC Microcontroller. When the individual cast their vote, the count of the vote will be updated directly to PC using the Internet of Things.

Abstract: Video may go through different sorts of heterogeneous systems amid the procedure of transmission, which impact sly affects the continuous video quality. The previous technique focus on how to compress videos based on the video flow without considering the real-time network information. This system presents an adaptive method that combines video transmission control and video encoding the system over heterogeneous networks. This system includes steps such as : first, to collect and standardize the real-time information describing the network and the video, then to assess the video quality and calculate the video coding rate based on the standardized information, and then to process the encoded compression of the video according to the calculated coding rate and transfer the compressed video. The aim of this project is to provide an adaptive video transmission control system and technique to enhance the ongoing video quality, which takes the continuous system data into the video transmission control over heterogeneous systems. The application-layer protocol has three phases:

1) Simultaneously collect video and network flow status.

2) To adjust the parameters for video quality dynamically that, come from the network and video environment feedback. 

3) To optimize the video coding rate that is as per the present condition.

Abstract: In recent day’s fraud attaching in ATM is a major issue which tremendously affect the social and mental well being of a person. Our proposed paper is a key idea to reduce the crime activites and usage of ATM by irrelevant people to handle one’s account. We use biometric identifications such as face and iris recognition implemented using Raspberry pi, which are more secured when compared to other physical recognition methods. When the user fails to pass the verification process twice, the ATM door will be locked automatically. The user can only leave the ATM when the security enters the OTP send to his mobile through GSM.
