Abstract: The present work dedicated to experimental investigation of fracture of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) by ASTM D-5045 for different crack length & layer of orientation using fused deposition modeling (FDM) process. Objective of this work is to printing of Compact Tension (CT) specimen with different crack length and Layer of orientation by FDM process & printed Specimens are fractured in tensile machine for each & every cases. Result of experiment compered and data are analyzed for finding Stress Intensity Factor (KI) and Crack Mouth opening and displacement (CMOD).

Abstract: This paper describes predicted results of the Acoustic Transmission Loss, Insertion Loss & Back Pressure. Noise emitted from the automobiles Engines need to be controlled due to environmental concerns. Hence good design of the muffler should give the best noise reduction and offer optimum backpressure for the engine. Transmission Loss, IL & Back pressure are the important performance parameters for optimization of muffler. Design of mufflers is a complex function that affects noise characteristics, emission and fuel efficiency of engine. Therefore muffler design becomes more and more important for noise reduction. Traditionally, muffler design has been an iterative process by trial and error. However, the theories and science that has undergone development in recent years has given a way for an engineer to cut short number of iteration.

The muffler geometry can be optimized consequently, to attenuate or remark certain spectral components of the engine noise, according to the results expected. Then modify the muffler design by increasing the no. of holes on the baffle plate or by some other means. In particularly 1-D GT-Power Simulation tool has been applied to predict the muffler behaviour in time & frequency domain. In this process very efficient muffler is taken for bench marking & tested for transmission loss, Insertion loss & Back pressure. These results are validated in the GT-power. Depending on the performance of this muffler the targets are set for the new muffler.

Abstract: Casting is one of the important moulding processes in a manufacturing industry.  Many investigations are being carried related to casting for increasing the efficiency & operator safety.  Where efficiency is affected parameters like permeability, collapsibility, adhesiveness etc... Automation in this field helps to improve the foundry & its accuracy of a cast part.  So, a pneumatically controlled rammer has been developed to control the sequential movement of double acting cylinders which is further automated by 5/2 way pilot operated direction control valve and 3/2 way Roller limit switches for movement of rammers.  The dead weight of the rammer has been increased to 12.5 Kg.  So, we are able to achieve effectiveness in ramming with limited time.

Abstract: In this work, it is proposed to carry out a detailed finite element fatigue analysis using ANSYS to evaluate fatigue life of vertical tail fin made up of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP).CAD modeling of the vertical tail fin will be done in CATIA V5 which will be followed by importing to ANSYS for fatigue analysis by feeding the boundary conditions and the mechanical properties. As composite materials have different mechanical properties in different directions, all the mechanical properties will be calculated using available formulae. The fatigue parameters are evaluated for different volume of  fractions of fibers for both composite materials (CFRP and GFRP). Results are compared for both the composite material. The tail assembly of an aircraft structure commonly referred to as empennage, which provides directional stability to aircraft. Tail assembly includes horizontal fin (stabilizer) and vertical fin. A lot of research has been made on improving the fatigue life of an aircraft. Fatigue analysis of an aircraft includes determination of fatigue life, damage factor, safety factor, SN curve etc. Composite materials have been widely used in aerospace applications because of their low density and high strength property. Fatigue occurs when a material is subjected to repeated loading and unloading. If the loads are above a certain threshold, microscopic cracks will begin to form at the surface. The vertical fin will have infinite fatigue life i.e.,it will not see any cracks over its surface below a stress level called Endurance limit.

Abstract: Purpose of this paper is to predict vibration absorption capacity using beams with inserts. The experiment is to be carried out to compare the vibration absorption of the material without inserts and with inserts of different visco-elastic materials of circular cross sections. The specimens are prepared from commercial mild steel and, Bakelite, Teflon as inserts. The experiment results are shown and from the results it has been concluded that the inserts of high Vibration absorption capability in the structures. The graphs obtained from the oscilloscope shows Vibration absorption of the beams.

Abstract: Research has been carried out on the theory, design and construction of waste heat recovery using heat pipes heat exchanger with nano fluid, especially their use in waste heat recovery for energy recovery in automobile exist, reduction of air pollution and environmental conservation. A heat pipe heat exchanger has been designed and constructed for heat recovery in exhaust from IC Engine, where the air must be changed up to 40 times per hour. In this research, the characteristic design and heat transfer limitations of single heat pipes without wick and working with Hybrid Nanofluids have been investigated. There has been increasing interest in nano fluid and its use in heat transfer enhancement. Nanofluids are suspensions of nano particles in fluids that show significant enhancement of their properties at modest nano particle concentrations.

Abstract: The objective of this work is to report a comparative study the effect of welding parameters on resistance spot welds made on  ASS304 and ASS202 stainless steels   parameters chosen were current, electrode force and weld cycle , to determine their effect on microstructure and mechanical properties of the weld obtained , this study helps us to find out the optimum values for parameters, first joining two strips of 0.5mm each first  ASS304 and ASS304 then joining 0.5mm ASS202 and ASS202 in last ASS304 and ASS202 and then to compare the result.

Abstract: The present work deals with fuel ionization by using magnetic field which will ensure complete combustion of air-fuel mixture. Incomplete combustion in engine is due to improper mixing of hydrocarbon and oxygen molecule. In I.C. engine incomplete combustion produced large amount of emission gasses like CO, HC & NOX etc. & incomplete combustion fuel gives lower efficiency.These attempt is made in this work to improve the combustion efficiency of internal combustion engines by adopting a magnetic fuel ionization method in which the fuel is ionized due to the magnetic field. To overcome these issues electromagnets are developed called as electro-magnetic fuel conditioner.This help to aligns & orientation of hydrocarbon molecules, better atomization of fuel. Use of such electromagnet mounted in path of fuel lines improves mileage & reduces emission of vehicle. These experiments are conducted at different engine loading conditions. The work in particular is very significant on account of its impact on the global automobile market.

Abstract: Composite materials play a vital role in many industrial applications. Researchers are working on fabrication of new composite materials worldwide to enhance the applicability of these materials. The biggest advantage of modern composite materials is that they are light as well as strong. By choosing an appropriate combination of matrix and reinforcement material, a new material can be made that exactly meets the requirements of a particular application. Composites also provide design flexibility because many of them can be moulded into complex shapes. The downside is often the cost. Although the resulting product is more efficient, the raw materials are often expensive. E-glass epoxy laminates have been used in flooring, closets,seating ,air ducts ,cargo liners ,insulating and various other cabin interior parts in aerospace applications. In this study, the E-glass Epoxy laminates is to be manufacture and fabricate as per ASTM (American society of testing and materials) standard 300x300x4mm. The tensile and flexural strength of an E-glass epoxy laminated composite plate is to be analyze by using UTM (Universal testing machine).

Abstract: Sea shell is available in nature. In general, sea shell has more strong which incorporated with Orthophthalic resin. Sea shell particle size is varying in polymer matrix composites. In this composite, various sizes of particles are 75m, 150m, 300m, 425m and 600m and the content of particles is 30gm are used. Here, mechanical properties (impact strength, hardness, flexural strength, tensile strength) are evaluated as per ASTM standard and optimise the results. The fractured surfaces are analyzed with the help of SEM pictures.

Abstract: A fiber Bragg grating（FBG）demodulation method based on nonlinear edge filter is used. Its basic principle is to use the ratio of two light signals to compute physical quantities. But under the condition of the same physical quantities, as energy of light source is changed, the ratio of two light signals has a small difference. Therefore, the instability problem of the system can be found and the ratio value correction method is used to solve the problem. The instability problem should be widespread in all light intensities demodulation methods such as edge filter demodulation method and matched filter demodulation method. In order to simplify the relationship between physical quantities and the ratio, Omit the wavelength that is the middle physical quantity, we use the method of virtual wavelength. The relationship between the actual wavelength and virtual wavelength is established. Compared with demodulation method of linear edge filter, our method can not only solve the instability problem and can improve the wavelength accuracy, but also can simplify the process.

Abstract: Energy from falling water has been converted by man to perform useful work. The turning water wheels converted the energy of the falling water into mechanical energy, or shaft horsepower. Usually, the water wheel turned a shaft the was connected to some work process as a gristmill.  Today modern turbines all through they look much different than the old water wheels, represent refinements of similar technology a more efficient way of converting the energy of falling water to mechanical energy, resulting in faster shaft rotation. If the shaft from a turbine is connected an electric generator, the two pieces of equipment become known as hydro turbine generator unit or a hydroelectric generator. With world electricity demand increasing, exploitation of the considerable potential for hydropower generation in many development countries is an attractive prospect. The need for cost-effectiveness, decisions on the scale of new developments are being made one such attempt is micro hydro power generation.
