Abstract: This study examined the relationship between digitalization and supply chain efficiency at RAM Transporters Ltd in Rwanda. It focused on three dimensions of digitalization: real-time data monitoring, automated order processing and scheduling, and digital procurement systems. A descriptive cross-sectional research design employing a mixed-methods approach was adopted. The target population comprised 45 employees of RAM Transporters Ltd. Quantitative data were collected using questionnaires, of which 35 complete responses were obtained, while qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five key informants. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression in SPSS Version 25, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The findings indicated a low overall level of digitalization, with a digitalization index of 34.4%. Real-time monitoring recorded the highest mean score (M = 2.45), followed by automated scheduling (M = 1.95) and digital procurement (M = 1.65), while supply chain efficiency had an overall mean score of 2.10. Pearson’s correlation analysis revealed positive and statistically significant relationships between real-time monitoring and supply chain efficiency (r = .645, p < .01) and between automated scheduling and supply chain efficiency (r = .521, p < .01). The multiple regression model explained 48.7% of the variance in supply chain efficiency, with real-time monitoring emerging as the only statistically significant individual predictor (β = .432, p = .024). Qualitative findings further revealed continued reliance on manual processes, fragmented use of digital technologies, and resistance to technological change. The study concludes that digitalization is significantly associated with supply chain efficiency at RAM Transporters Ltd, with real-time monitoring showing the strongest measurable relationship in the regression model. The study recommends strengthening real-time monitoring systems, progressively automating core supply chain processes, developing integrated digital procurement systems, and investing in staff training and change-management initiatives.
