Abstract: Computer networks are a system of interconnected computers for the purpose of sharing digital information. The concept of a network began in 1962 when a server at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was connected to a server in Santa Monica, California. Since that time the proliferation of computers and computer networks has increased significantly. One of the most significant challenges to networks is attacks on their resources caused by inadequate network security. In this research paper we highlight and overview concept of computer networks.

Abstract: The focus of the paper is to represent an algorithm that how the load to virtual machine can be deduced and avoid the dead lock while allocating the processes to virtual machine. In VM while processes are allocate they executes in queue, the first process get resources, other remains in waiting state. As rest of VM remains idle. To utilize the resources, here we purposed an algorithm that will avoid deadlock and utilize each VM successively.

Abstract: IDS in cloud environment is applied since years but its working is not yet proved. These days cloud computing is uses on the vast scale for accessing computing resources, as in LAN use of IDS is not considered significant, due to limited users of LAN cloud environment is more in demand. In this research work, a cloud environment is tried to propose for IDS services in a limited manner or as per user’s requirement. By using SNORT IDS software on virtual machine, we are executing this setup. With the help of WINSCP, we are fetching data from VM to windows or another system.

Abstract: Wireless Sensor networks (WSNs) are easy to deploy and allow flexible installations which have enabled them to be used for numerous applications. Due to these properties, they face distinct information security threats. Security for WSNs is very much needed, because of its sensitive information transmission. Sensor networks are vulnerable to many types of attacks because they are deployed in public environment. So it is necessary to secure sensor networks, this can be achieved by introducing authentication and pair wise key establishment mechanisms to sensor nodes. In the proposed system some nodes in WSN are selected as stationary access nodes (SANs) to provide authentication access point between mobile sinks and static sensor nodes. The key distribution mechanism uses two types of key pools: the mobile key pool and the static key pool, the keys in the mobile key pool are shared between mobile sinks and SANs the keys in the static key pool are shared between Sans and Static sensor nodes.

Abstract:  In MANET, congestion is severe problem and in spite of the lot of works already done in the area, still due to involvement of new techniques and devices it is required to be reconsidered again. Congestion control using congestion window management has also been addressed earlier but there is no algorithm proposed which is controlling congestion window dynamically using packet count and information received from the neighbor nodes about packet count. CARMAN helps in avoiding congestion and provides a network layer solution. It is an extension of CORMAN to provide pipeline transmission of data packets for long distance multihop transmissions. The objectives of CARMAN algorithm are it allows pipeline data transmission for long distance multipath transmission and also provides faster transmission of data packets avoiding congestion. Measure challenges faced in CARMAN are Hop Count Calculation. The CARMAN faces the problems due to application of hop count based calculations for data forwarding and will not be suitable for large networks. This work proposes to eliminate the hop count threshold calculation. It also proposes to use AODV protocol for testing the proposed improved congestion control.

Abstract: The use of biometric person recognition for secure access to restricted data /services using a mobile phone with Internet connection have been dealt. Biometrics can be divided into two categories based upon the underlying characteristic they are using: physiological and behavioral. There are three general categories of user authentication: 1) something you know, e.g., passwords and personal-identification numbers (PINs), 2) something you have (e.g., tokens), and 3) something you are (e.g., biometrics). Today, with the advancement of mobile handsets and wireless networking, mobile devices have both the network access and computing capacity to provide users with a diverse range of services (e.g, secure payment , e-banking, e-commerce (better: m-commerce), etc.).Then, a very popular device, with increasing functionality and access to personally and financially sensitive information; therefore, the requirement for additional and/or advanced authentication mechanisms is essential.

Abstract: The main objective is to describe an approach for data clustering by using Mini Batch K-Means algorithm. The implementation describes here optimizes the K-Means by using one-pass over the input data and produces as many centroids as it determines is optimal. Avoiding multiple passes over the input data can have major impacts on running time because just reading large data set can increase the cost in large-scale computations. Mini Batch K-Means algorithm is implemented by using Hadoop framework. Mini Batch K-Means is implemented using Map-Reduce programming paradigms and clusters of machine is created by using VMware virtual machine. Experimental results are compared between existing system K-Means and proposed system Mini Batch K-Means by using datasets like reuters21578 and SC time series dataset. Mini Batch K-Means clustering algorithm can improve parameters like accuracy at good extent as it shows compact and well-separated clusters and computation time can also decrease as compared to existing algorithm. Performance can also improve by using more number of machines in Hadoop cluster.

Abstract: Wireless Sensor Network platforms are less expensive and more powerful having tiny electronic devices called Motes (sensor nodes). Wireless sensor networks enhance its popularity in military and health centric research areas; now it is also popular in industrial area. Security is the main requirement of wireless sensor networks. This paper describes the network layer attacks which lead to subvert the network functionality. Amongst them, the wormhole attack is a severe threat to WSNs. This attack completely disrupts the network topology by altering the message, by relaying old and fake messages in the network. Researchers have developed and proposed many detection mechanisms to detect and prevent the wormhole attack. The aim of this paper is to elaborate the simulation results and also compare the performance of wormhole detection techniques (Transmission time based, Range based and MDS based) that are popular in WSNs.

Abstract: A group of linked computers is called Computer cluster which works closely to form a single computer. Mostly components of clusters are connected through LAN. Clusters are mostly deployed to Improve availability and/or performance over that provided by a single Computer.  It is more cost-effective than others. The main objective of the cluster computer is using a processing node groups so as to complete the job in a less amount of time. It is achieved by transferring loads from busy to idle nodes. The strategy to achieve such objective is by transferring the extra loads from busy nodes to idle nodes.

Abstract: The existing ad hoc routing protocols do not accommodate any security and are highly vulnerable to attacks. We discuss threats and attacks against ad hoc routing under several areas of application. A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of nodes that is connected through a wireless medium forming rapidly changing topologies. The assumption of a trusted environment is not one that can be realistically expected; hence, several efforts have been made toward the design of a secure and robust routing protocol for ad hoc networks. We formulate the threat model for ad hoc routing and present several specific attacks that can target the operation of a protocol. MANET is an emerging research area with practical applications. However, wireless MANET is particularly vulnerable due to its fundamental characteristics, such as open medium, dynamic topology, distributed cooperation, and constrained capability. Routing plays an important role in the security of the entire network. In general, routing security in wireless MANETs appears to be a problem that is not trivial to solve. In this article we study the routing security issues of MANETs, and analyze in detail one type of attack — the “black hole” problem — that can easily be employed against the MANETs. We also propose a solution for the black hole problem for ad hoc on-demand distance vector routing protocol. Reason for this increased attention is the wide range of multimedia applications running in an infrastructure less environment. Because of the infrastructure less environment, limited power and dynamic topology it becomes very difficult to provide a secure environment in MANET. In this paper we are providing a detailed survey of different kind of attacks and proposed solutions for handling those attacks. This paper also gives a brief comparison of various protocols available for secured routing in MANET.

Abstract: With the rise of the era of “cloud computing”, concerns about “Security” continue to increase. Cloud computing environments impose new challenges on access control techniques due to the growing scale and dynamicity of hosts within the cloud infrastructure; we proposed Multi-Authority System (MAS) architecture. This architecture consists of agents: Cloud Service Provider Agent (CSPA), Control Agent (CA), Third party Auditor (TPA) and Attribute Authority Agent (AAA). The TPA provides a graphical interface to the cloud user that facilitates the access to the services offered by the Cloud Service Provider (CSPA).

Abstract: A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a self-configuring infrastructure less network of mobile devices connected by wireless. The primary challenge in building a MANET is equipping each device to continuously maintain the information required to properly route traffic. MANET does not require a fixed network infrastructure; every single node works as both a transmitter and a receiver. Nodes communicate directly with each other when they are both within the same communication range. Otherwise, they rely on their neighbors to relay messages. The open medium and wide distribution of nodes make MANET vulnerable to malicious attackers. A new intrusion detection system named Reinforce Adaptive ACKnowledgement (RAACK) specially designed for MANETs. By the adoption of MRA scheme, RAACK is capable of detecting malicious nodes despite the existence of false misbehavior report. In this paper, we propose and implement a new intrusion-detection system named Reinforce Adaptive ACKnowledgment (RAACK) specially designed for MANETs. Compared to contemporary approaches, RAACK demonstrates higher malicious-behavior-detection rates.

Abstract: The increasing applications of Face recognition system in various fields are the motivating factor for me to propose new methods to improve the recognizing rate of the face images. The aim of this paper is to develop a robust method for face recognition and classification of persons in-order to increase the recognition rate by improving the efficiency of the system and reducing its complexity. I desired to develop this project to automate the entire process of face recognition given a set of facial database and to improve the performance of the face recognition system. The proposed approach is based on the fusion of face and fingerprint traits at feature extraction level. Here the independent features of the two modalities are extracted and then fused together for further recognition and classification. Two different algorithms are used in extracting the features of face and fingerprint traits. I have applied SIFT algorithm for extracting the facial features and Minutiae algorithm for extracting the features of fingerprint. Later, the features are combined together and the Euclidean distance metrics is used for recognition and the classification of persons is done using the labels. The proposed system has been proved to be efficient and the accuracy of recognition has been improved.
