Abstract: The Ocean is vast as it covers around 140 million square miles, more than 75% of earth’s surface. New technologies have brought us new ways to explore this vast unexplored aquatic environment which provided us with a number of applications. Existing solution of terrestrial sensor networks cannot be applied directly to underwater sensor networks. Due to several architectural difference with respect to terrestrial ones, which are mainly due to transmission medium characteristics (sea water) and the signal employed to transmit data underwater sensor network requires wireless communication and acoustics is the primary modality of choice even though it presents a difficult channel. In this thesis we develop a simulation framework to be able to evaluate Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks with a realistic approach.

Abstract: Safety and productivity in the work-place are intimately related to worker health. A workplace may have chemical, physical, biological, and/or psychosocial hazards that have the potential to impact physical and psychological well-being. If the development of the iPhone application Crew Alert. The application is intended for use by pilots as a tool for assessment, logging and reporting of fatigue, to increase safety in the air. It also keeps track of the user's schedule, and sleep pattern. The application is developed from being only a iPhone application to being a fully universal iOS application supporting all iOS devices and screen orientations. Focus of development lies on usability and feature set, using the Goal Directed Design approach in combination with the Scrum framework. As development progressed the focus was put towards lowering the learning curve and creating more substance for the users in everyday use.

Abstract: Mobile devices are not in any way as they used to be in the past. Not only have the screens grown in size and quality, but also the internal hardware has grown to reach performance levels seen only in laptop computers some years ago. In addition to traditional mobile phones, the market has seen the rise of devices with screen up to over 10 inches, so called tablets. All of this opens doors for new, bigger, faster, better looking and possibly yet never seen applications to be developed.  Google Android and Apple iOS being among the biggest players in the mobile operating system market, there is also a need for usable environments in which more or less experienced developers can create applications of their own for these specific environments. As the mobile application development is luring more and more developers into the market it has also become an attractive topic in educational environment. The growing popularity of Android and iOS has made them the two most interesting plat- forms for now. We compare Android and iOS users according to their demographic deference, security and privacy awareness, and reported behavior when installing apps. We present an exploratory study based on an online survey with more than students and describe directions for further research.

Abstract: The home networking market is growing rapidly and wireless technologies play an important role in the most home networks. Wireless home automation networks comprise wireless embedded sensors and actuators that enable monitoring and control applications for home user comfort and efficient home management. The major design challenge of home automation is to choose best standard for controlling devices in existing home environments without any changes in infrastructure. In recent years Zigbee was the promising technology for home automation. But, nowadays there are some other standards (like Bluetooth LE, INSTEON and EnOcean) which give their best for controlling home devices. This thesis presents an overview of different wireless communication standards by comparing their main features in terms of various metrics such as range, frequency band, maximum node count, security, cost and market adoption. This thesis concludes with a statement of which technology will be the best and most cost effective solution to end user.

Abstract: Finger print verification system is the most trustable biometric system in the world. However, finger print matching, especially when the finger print images have low quality or when the matching is performed cross-sensors, is still an open research. The main problem in automatic finger print identification is to acquire reliable features from finger print image with poor quality. So there is a urgent need for finger print image enhancement and Feature extraction. This project proposes a method for finger print image enhancement and feature extraction for low quality finger prints. This project provides a adaptive fingerprint image enhancement method which automatically adjust with parameters based on the input finger print image. The pre-processing method includes global and local analysis for better enhancement. The contrast can be enhanced to provide better visual enhancement using SMQT method. The input low quality fingerprint image should be enhanced and finally it would be segmented in to a binarized mode using Gabor filter. The feature extraction is done using fixed templates. The main modules on the project are Pre-processing using Adaptive Finger Enhancement (AFE), Ridge Segmentation and Feature extraction. This paper can be helpful to increase the verification accuracy on AFIS(Automatic Fingerprint Identification System).

Abstract: The main objective is to discuss the security features and weakness of IEEE 802.15, IEEE802.11 and IEEE802.16 i.e. Wireless PAN, Wireless LAN and Wireless WAN networks. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Wi-Max are the three most widely used wireless networking technologies. These networks are exposed to many types of risks and have various flaws in their respective protocol structure. Bluetooth belongs to a category of Short-range Wireless technologies, Wireless LAN or Wi-Fi is the LAN network we use in our home, offices or buildings etc to provide user the network availability whereas WI-MAX is used on a bigger scale MAN i.e. providing the network coverage on a metro scale through cellular networks to compensate the wired broadband services. In this Paper, study of these popular wireless communication standards in current scenario, evaluating their security features in terms of various metrics. This dissertation focuses on the various types of attacks on these networks and the countermeasures to overcome them.

Abstract: Data Mining is a very interesting area to mine the data for knowledge. Several techniques are available. A data mining is one of the fast growing research field which is used in a wide areas of applications. The data mining consists of classification algorithms, association algorithms and searching algorithms. We are using clustering and decision tree methods to mine the data by using hybrid algorithms K-means, SOM and HAC algorithms from clustering and ID3 and C4.5 and CART algorithms from decision tree and it can produce the better results than the traditional algorithms. The comparative study of these algorithms to obtain which one is high accuracy, frequency, measure, procedure, Pruning, error rate and time complexities from the decision tree algorithm. At the same time the comparative study of these algorithms to obtain which one is quality, error rate, computation time, accessing time, performance, number of cluster, Map topology, type of software, type of data, and data set size from the clustering algorithm.

Abstract:  The hifi systems produced modern audio compression techniques and also the increased bandwidth. Like this it also changed the music industry. In the 19^th century it produced a service. In the 20^th century music became an industrial product. In the 21^st century, music will be a service again. ITunes from apple or napster2 from roxio has been the legal online music services which started successfully. In contrast to this users of home hifi systems still miss such online services. The authors give an impression of the future hifi systems is their dream. Like, a modern pc the dreamed system, which is currently under development has internet access and operates with a hard disk. Technologies like audio fingerprinting and melody transcription are necessary for future hifi systems. The core component of the hifi systems is the content manager.

Abstract: As Smartphones evolve  researchers  are  studying  new  techniques  to  ease  the  human-mobile  interaction. We  propose  EyePhone, a novel “hand-free” interfacing  system  capable  of  driving  mobile  applications/functions  using  only  the user’s  eyes  movement  and  actions (e.g., wink). EyePhone  tracks  the  user’s  eye  movement  across  the  phone’s  display  using  the camera  mounted  on  the  front of  the  phone;   more  specifically,  machine learning  algorithms  are  used  to Track  the  eye  and  infer  its  position on the  mobile  phone  display as  a  user  views a particular application;  and Detect eye blinks that emulate mouse clicks to activate the target application  under  view.

We  present  a prototype  implementation  of  EyePhone  on  a  Nokia N810, which  is  capable  of  tracking  the  position  of  the  eye  on  the  display,  mapping this  positions  to  an  application  that  is  activated  by  a wink. At  no  time  does  the user  have  to  physically  touch  the  phone  display.

Abstract: Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous system connected by mobile nodes with wireless links. Due to absence of infrastructure, MANET is used in various applications, such as battlefield, business applications, and remote areas. As, communication among the nodes is through the insecure wireless link, security is very important issue for this type of networks. MANET is vulnerable to attacks such as Black hole attack, Gray hole attack, wormhole attack, Sybil attack, and Route table modification attack. Which is based on cluster organization of network, this paper provides is approaches are detected and prevent the black hole attack over the MANET. Most of them use the properties of malicious activities of node and network during attack condition. These techniques are provides the efficient detection and prevention over MANET environment this techniques are limited to adopt a single problem of security from black hole detection.

Abstract:  Videos streaming P2P networking is an enabling technology for system devices to self-organize in an unstructured style and communicate in a peer-to-peer fashion. Due to user system and/or the unrestricted switching on/off of the system devices, links are intermittently connected and end-to-end paths may not exist, causing routing a very challenging problem. Moreover, the limited wireless spectrum and device resources together with the rapidly growing number of portable devices and amount of transmitted data make routing even harder. To tackle these challenges, the routing algorithms must be scaling up, distributed, and light weighted. Nevertheless, existing approaches usually cannot simultaneously satisfy all these three requirements. In this paper, we propose two opportunistic routing algorithms for intermittently connected video streaming P2P networks, which exploit the spatial locality, spatial regularity, and activity heterogeneity of human system to select relays. The first algorithm employs a depth-search approach to diffuse the data towards the destination. The second one adopts a depth-width-search approach in a sense that it diffuses the data not only towards the destination but also to other directions determined by the actively moving nodes (activists) to find better relays. We perform both theoretical analysis as well as a comparison based simulation study. Our results obtained from both the synthetic data and the real world traces reveal that the proposed algorithms outperform the state-of-the-art in terms of delivery latency and delivery ratio.

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks are equipped to handle more complex functions. In a network processing may require these battery powered sensor to judiciously use their constrained energy to prolong the effective network life time especially in a heterogeneous settings. Nodes are organized into clusters and in each cluster all non-cluster nodes transmit their data only to the cluster-head. Because of energy limitation in sensor nodes are energy reduction in each data transmission; appropriate cluster-head election can significantly reduce energy consumption and enhance the life of the network. Clustered techniques have since been employed to optimize energy consumption in this energy constrained wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we consider LEACH protocol in which most nodes transmit to cluster heads and explore how to elect the cluster heads with mobility as its parameter. Efficient distributed algorithms for cluster-head election in terms of energy are provided. Mobility based communication can prolong the life time of WSNs and increases the connectivity of cluster head. The experiment results show that our cluster-head election algorithms used in LEACH with the help of other two parameters (Euclidean distance and Mobility) can make the node live longer.

Abstract: Heart attack is a global leading cause of death for both gender and the occurrence is not always known to us. Usually Heart Rate Calculation has traditionally been conducted using specialized hardware or device. It used most commonly in the form of pulse dosimeters or Electrocardiogram devices. Though these devices have higher method and they are reliable to normal user. However, these devices require users to perform their process. In this paper, we propose a system capable of estimating the heart beat rate using just a camera from a commercially available smart phone and also using a mobile stethoscope to record heart sound for detecting the occurrence of heart attack and also some other heart related disease. Fuzzy Logic is used here, which is a part of Data Mining, the expert problem solution for human illness. In general, case people could not understand whenever they face this problem and this is the main cause of death. Our research is about to determine this problem earlier to reduce the death rate of heart attack. The advantage of this method is that the user does not need specialized hardware and he/she can take a measurement in virtually any place under almost any circumstances. In addition, the measurement can be used as a tool for health coaching applications or effective tableware services aimed in enhancing the user’s well being.

Title: SMART PHONES DETECTS HEART ATTACK

Abstract: A vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) uses cars as mobile nodes in a MANET to create a mobile network. For security Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) adopt the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs). In the Public Key Infrastructure system the authentication of a received message is performed by checking if the certificate of the sender is included in the current Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) and verifying the authenticity of the certificate and signature of the sender. But it takes more time for CRL checking process. So in order to overcome this problem we use an efficient revocation check process in EMAP uses a keyed Hash Message Authentication Code(HMAC) , where the key used in calculating the HMAC is shared only between non-revoked On-Board Units (OBUs). In addition, EMAP uses a novel probabilistic key distribution which enables non-revoked OBUs to securely share and update a secret key. To conquer computation overhead we introduce the data aggregation using probabilistic checking that can accelerate message verifications and significantly reduce computational overhead while retaining satisfactory security.
