Abstract: The quality of various search services on the Internet is effectively improved by using personalized web search (PWS). Personalized web search is a promising way to improve search quality by customizing search results for people with individual information goals. However, evidences show that user’s reluctance to disclose their private information during search has become a major barrier for the wide proliferation of PWS. Privacy protection in PWS applications model user preferences as hierarchical user profiles. PWS framework called UPS can adaptively generalize profiles by queries while respecting user specified privacy requirements. Runtime generalization aims at striking a balance between two predictive metrics that evaluate the utility of personalization and the privacy risk of exposing the generalized profile. Two greedy algorithms, namely Greedy dp and Greedy IL, are used for runtime generalization.  An online prediction mechanism for deciding whether personalizing a query is beneficial is provided.  Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the framework. The experimental results also reveal that Greedy IL significantly outperforms Greedy DP in terms of efficiency.

Abstract: Mobile communication is a technology that allows transmission of data, voice and video via a computer or any other wireless enabled device without having to be connected to a fixed physical link. It offers levels of mobility and services never available before. The earliest batch of mobile phones could only make and receive calls. Today’s mobile phones, however, are packed with a lot of additional features such as Web browsers, games, cameras, video players and even navigational systems. Smart and advanced wireless communication environments represent the future technology and evolutionary development step in homes, hospitals, industrial, vehicular and transportation systems. This article discuss about mobile communication and some of its application. Applications like mobile banking, mobile entertainment, and how mobile communication is used in disaster relief.

Abstract: Cloud computing has proven to be a successful distributed computing model as demonstrated by its wide spread industrial adoption. OpenStack is free open source Cloud computing software originally released by Rackspace and NASA, which strives to close the gap in the lack of a comprehensive Cloud platform with a fast pace of development and innovation, and supported by both an active community of people and large companies. In today’s Security Mechanism Authentication plays a vital role. In this paper, we go through OpenStack deployment on Multi-Node/Controller and integration of OpenStack project called Keystone with Centralized LDAP Server. Keystone is responsible for providing a common Authentication/Authorization for all OpenStack services.

Abstract:  As the problem definition is mainly related to truck which is filled to its capacity in an optimal way the word capacitated is used. The main criteria of the problem is to deliver the goods ordered by multiple clients to them so that the distance covered in delivering those goods to the clients is minimal along with the vehicle or truck tracking facility using geo-fencing on a Google map in an android device hence the word optimal. Our program will display the map using Google map API‘s hence the word guided. The location of driver is noted using the GPS tracker of his mobile, the location of driver is constantly monitored to check if the truck is deviating from the assigned path, as we are virtually defining a boundary the word geo-fencing.

Abstract:  A number of commercial peer-to-peer (P2P) systems for live streaming have been introduced in recent years. The behaviour of these popular systems has been extensively studied in several measurement projects. Due to the proprietary nature of these commercial systems, however, these studies have to rely on a “black-box” approach, where packet traces are collected from a single or a limited number of measurement points, to infer various properties of traffic on the control and data planes. Although such studies are useful to compare different systems from the end-user’s perspective, it is difficult to intuitively understand the observed properties without fully reverse-engineering the underlying systems. In this project, we describe the network architecture of Zattoo, one of the largest production live streaming providers in Europe at the time of writing, and present a large-scale measurement study of Zattoo using data collected by the provider. To highlight, we found that even when the Zattoo system was heavily loaded with as high as 20 000 concurrent users on a single overlay, the median channel join delay remained less than 2–5 s, and that, for a majority of users, the streamed signal lags over-the-air broadcast signal by no more than 3 s.

Abstract: Managing virtualized services efficiently over the cloud is an open challenge. We propose a semantically rich, policy-based framework to iterate the lifecycle of cloud services. We have divided the IT service lifecycle In to the five phases viz Requirements, Discovery, Negotiation, Composition, and Consumption. We detail each phase and describe the high level ontologies that we have developed to describe them. Our research complements previous work on ontologies for service acquisition on the cloud with focus on supporting negotiation for the key deliverable of IT services.

Classification is a data mining techniques used to predict group memberships for data instances. In this paper, Classification is applied to analyze the Student’s Recruitment process like Selected, Waiting and Not Selected. This paper will help the Lecturers to shortlist the students and arrange them for the recruitment process. Existing system of student recruitment process is to identifies the weak students before the final exam through internal assessment like, quiz, lab-performance, attendance and previous exam grade to improve the performance of the student in the final exam. Abstract: Nurse scheduling is a difficult problem that every hospitals faces every month or a week. It impacts the health care system in the hospitals. The Nurse Rostering Problem [NRP] said to be as a subclass of the personnel scheduling problems, and most of its instances are not solvable. Solving the Nurse Rostering Problem has been research field from many years, though, Nurse Rostering is done manually. Abstract: Data mining is the most fast growing area today which is used to extract important knowledge from large data collections but often these collections are divided among several parties. Association rule mining is one of the techniques in data mining. Here , we propose a protocol for mining of association rules in horizontally distributed databases and protocol is based on the Fast Distributed Mining (FDM) algorithm which is an unsecured distributed version of the Apriori algorithm. The main ingredients in protocol are two novel secure multi-party algorithms — one that computes the union of private subsets that each of the interacting players hold, and another that tests the inclusion of an element held by one player in a subset held by another. Our protocol offers enhanced privacy with respect to the protocol. In addition, it is simpler and is significantly more efficient in terms of communication rounds, communication cost and computational cost.

<p justify;\\"="" style="text-align: justify;"> Abstract:  The studies monitor the change in urban growth in Kano, northern Nigeria between 1999 and 2003. The Landsat imageries with 30m resolution were used as for detecting changes using both supervised and unsupervised classification. The images for the two periods were downloaded, layer stacked and corrected before the main processing work. Envi 4.8, ArcGIS 10.0 Idrisi for Taiga 17.0 and excel application of Microsoft office 2007 were used for data processing and analysis. The results were presented in maps, tables and charts. For the supervised classification four land cover classes (ie vegetation, bare lands, built up and water body) were used for the classification. The results have shown that the only bare lands had increases within period of study. Vegetation, water body and built up area had all decreases. However in some area especially in GRA vegetation has increase and this has been attributed to urban greening. To distinguish between farm land and tree canopy the study further used five classes by breaking the vegetation classes into two and the results shows that while farmland had decreases, the dense tree canopy has increase in the area for the period of study. The accuracy assessment has shown that the result is between 86 and 99 percent. The study recommended among other things the need for policy makers to look critically into the issues of urban planning and development in the area.

Abstract: Accomplishing anonymity in MANETs (Mobile Ad Hoc Networks) for secure and efficient routing plays a vital role in sensitive data communication. Anonymity is preserved in various ways such as source anonymity, Destination anonymity, usage of pseudonyms etc. Large scale Applications and emergency military operations encompasses the anonymity preserving task. In this paper, anonymity is preserved by means of “Anonymous Agents”. Shortest path to destination is calculated using GPSR(Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing) protocol. The source maintains a data cache table. Anonymous Agents are chosen in the path determined by GPSR. Digital Signature is used for authentication. From simulation results, Delay and Routing Performance is improved as well as security is preserved by the adopted scheme.

Abstract: Smartphones today are the new desktops. The time spent on smartphone is considerably large as compared to all other electronic devices we use. Android is the leading OS used on smartphones. Every year Google, Apple, Microsoft is releasing new updates to their mobile operating systems along with new Smartphones. This had led to fragmentation of various versions of the same OS in the market. This paper focuses on removing this software fragmentation and enables the end user to use different version of Mobile operating systems on a single Hardware device. The end user need not change the Hardware to get the latest update of the OS instead he/she can keep his/her old device and still use the latest update of the OS pushed by the vendor. The bottom line is “One Device running multiple operation systems”.

Abstract: The objective of the prediction system is to identify exactly where the shooter is going to kick the ball while taking a penalty, right before he actually does so. This involves close analysis of the player’s features and characteristic behaviour that he portrays in the seconds prior to the actual kicking. Computers can derive different predictions based on machine learning techniques such as neural networks and fuzzy logic which will be seen as we proceed. In this proposed project, we analyze videos of particular players by first extracting frames and then, performing operations on them. We draw out features such as angle of leg movement, trajectory of path, etc. and train our system in detecting these aspects. After these features have been appropriately drawn out, the system makes a decision on which direction the player is going to shoot based on certain rules (fuzzy logic) that have been assigned based on behaviour. We shall also see in the sections below, the different ways each feature has been extracted.
