Abstract: This paper presents an adaptive tracking controller for a two-vehicle convoy where the lead vehicle is driven in reverse. We assume that the lead vehicle linear and angular velocities are unknown constant parameters. We consider the problem of autonomous vehicle tracking without the use of road infrastructure or inter-vehicle communication. The only information the robot vehicle can use for feedback control is the relative position and orientation with respect to the lead vehicle obtained from onboard sensing. The control velocities of the ego-vehicle are computed using the leader velocity estimates obtained from the dynamic part of the proposed controller. The proposed adaptive control law achieves asymptotic stabilization of the closed-loop system in error coordinates. In highway systems, grouping vehicles into platoons can improve road capacity and energy efficiency. With the advance of technologies, the performance of platoons can be further enhanced by vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). In the past few years, many studies have been conducted on the dynamics of a VANET-enabled platoon under traffic disturbance, which is a common scenario on a highway. However, most of them do not consider the impact of platoon dynamics on the behaviors of VANETs. Moreover, most existing studies focus on how to maintain the stability of a platoon and do not address how to mitigate negative effects of traffic disturbance, such as uncomfortable passenger experience, increased fuel consumption, and increased exhaust emission. In this paper, we will investigate the dynamics of the VANET-enabled platoon from an integrated perspective. In particular, we first propose a novel disturbance-adaptive platoon (DA-Platoon) architecture, in which a platoon controller shall adapt to the disturbance scenario and shall consider both VANET and platoon dynamics requirements.

Abstract: The telecommunications industry has experienced rapid growth in data networking. There is a need for high-bandwidth services with high data transmission rates, and end-to-end network reliability. Optical networks replace the traditional networks with the growing bandwidth demand and thus have revolutionized the telecommunication industry. The optical management system (OMS) is a network management system which supports several management layers that can accommodate and grow with a customer’s optical network. As the network elements increase in the network, managing the network becomes difficult and there is a need to develop an optical management system. This paper focuses on designing Communication Manager Application which is used for centralized monitoring and management of operations on Network Elements (NEs) in a telecommunication management network (TMN).

Abstract: In today’s Security Mechanism Authentication plays a vital role. Well known text-based password authentication systems that have various flaws in terms of is security and usability issues which in turn create problems to users .This lead to emergence of an alternative mechanism to overcome these drawbacks. Rather than typing textual characters, graphical passwords involves dragging or clicking on the pictures, are considered as alternative to prevent the problems that arise from textual passwords. In this paper, a comparative study of the Knowledge based system is performed specifying the pros and cons of each of them .We  have also specified various usability and security features for further research perspectives in this area.

Abstract: The adoption of Integrated Library Systems (ILS) became prevalent in the 1980s and 1990s as libraries began or continued to automate their processes. These systems enabled library staff work, in many cases, more efficiently than in the past. However, these systems are restrictive and has thus undergone changes over the years, making processes more efficient. One area of improved capabilities is that of “search”, which in this paper, builds on integrating topic modeling as a new feature in modern integrated library systems. Users can now partake and explore new ways of resolving text classification and data exploration problems on a typical library management and recommender systems. This aims also at improving book search, browse and help in book-selection decision making, using machine learning tools as the major tweak to the traditional search. It is however hoped that further application of topic modeling will be sought and developed as its usage has continually grown in the past few years.
