Abstract:  UPFC is one of the most widely used FACTS devices. To control (Kw) and (Kvar) in power system FACTS devices are commonly used. In this paper case study of 9 bus system is studied under the symmetrical fault i.e. three phase fault in MATLAB Simulink. Active power, reactive power and rotor angle, angular speed during the fault is studied. Also compared power in nine bus system using PI and Fuzzy controller. Using Fuzzy controller power oscillations damp out.

Abstract: This paper has shown the concept of automatic car parking system, which can automatically sense the entry and exit of the cars, number of cars displayed on the LCD. This automated car parking system reduces the time taken to check the space for the vehicles. In this paper we use the Infrar-red sensors which are placed on each of the floor, to sense the cars.  The system is developed using 89S52 microcontroller.

Abstract: The desire to reduce electrical loading by using energy efficient lighting has resulted in replacement of conventional incandescent lamp with compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). The use of compact fluorescent lamps is increases day by day in our country. However, every blessing is accompanied with evil things. Exactly in the same way if the excessive use of compact fluorescent lamps is not checked then it can lead to some disastrous and hazardous consequences on this ecosystem as well as on human beings. In this paper hazardous and unexpected consequences of CFLs have been described. An attempt has been made to create awareness regarding harmful effects of using CFLs in large numbers.

Abstract: Energy is a hot topic in the news today: increased consumption, increased cost, depleted natural resources, our dependence on foreign sources, and the impact on the environment and the danger of global warming. Wind energy has the attractive attribute that the fuel is free energy and this will be the case for the project lifetime and beyond. Wind energy has great potential to lessen our dependence on traditional resources like oil, gas and coal and to do it without as much damage to the environment. Wind cannot be used as a dependable source of base load power because it may be blow or not depend upon temperature. So we use wind turbine near the sea because there is much larger availability of wind. The wind speed near sea shore is much higher than in plain areas.

Abstract:  In today’s world national security has become a major concern. The whole world is facing a new kind of threat — “terrorism”. As all know there was a attack on the parliament of India a few years back. In this project the idea of having a three level security which will enhance the security of high profile places such as defence institutes, research institutes, parliaments etc.

In this project of three level security any user who wants to enter the premises has to have the password for all the three levels, then only the entry granted. Thus making sure that the entry is authentic. Also to monitor and control the Secured Access for parliament using an Android Operating system based Smart Phone. The server PC is connected to the smart phone via the Internet. Using specialized software first connect the server PC and the smart phone. Once the connection is established the user will be able to enter his password using the smart phone via Internet. After the connection has been made the user first has to enter the Password via his Smart Phone. If the password is correct then Access is granted. In this way the user authentication can be given from anywhere in the world. The user can also enter new users via his Smart phone.

Abstract: WSN is composed of network of devices, denoted as nodes, that can provide low cost solution to variety of real-world problems. Sensors are low cost tiny devices with limited storage, computational capability and power. They can be deployed in large scale for performing both military and civilian tasks. Security will be one of the main concerned when they will be deployed in large scale In wireless network however one cannot make assumption that wireless users are trusted. Malicious individuals could easily disrupt the network & is critical to protect a sensor network from such malicious attacks, which presents a demand for providing security mechanisms in the network. In this project, we propose a new approach of Security Solution for Cluster Based Wireless Sensor Networks. In the proposed methodology, an efficient MAC address based intruder tracking system has been developed for early intruder detection and its prevention.

Abstract: The usual grid-connected renewable energy source inverters have either a line frequency or a high frequency transformer between the source and the grid. This transformer is mainly focused for galvanic isolation between the load and the source. By removing the isolation transformer, we can achieve the effective solution and also reduced size and cost. This elimination produces the common mode ground leakage current, because of parasitic capacitance between the PV panel and ground. The common mode (CM) leakage current will reduce the efficiency of power conversion, and also affects grid current, deteriorate the electric magnetic compatibility and rise the safety threats. To eliminate the common mode (CM) leakage current, the virtual DC bus concept is implemented in this paper. When we connect grid neutral line to DC bus negative pole, the stray capacitance exists between the PV panel and ground is bypassed. The Common mode (CM) ground leakage current would be completely eliminated. To provide negative voltage level for negative AC grid current generation, the virtual DC bus is created. The virtual DC bus is implemented with the switched capacitor topology that uses less number of elements. Hence, the power electronic cost would be reduced. This topology can be implemented with the unipolar SPWM to reduce the output ripple. A small inductor, which can be used as filter will reduce size and magnetic losses. The simulation result of the proposed topology using MATLAB/SIMULINK is presented.

Abstract: The communication mechanism is employed in system on a single chip is an important contribution to their overall performance. The data bus based mechanism is applied in many areas of real time applications of Socs realizing on FPGA due to its flexibility and simplification in designing tool. It challenging task in a network-on-chip to design an on-chip switch / router to support (hard) guaranteed throughput under very tight on-chip constraints of power, timing, area and time-to-market. This paper presents an on-chip network to support traffic permutation in multiprocessor SoC applications. The proposed network employs a pipelined circuit switching approach combined with a path-setup scheme under a multistage network topology. The circuit-switching approach offers a guarantee of permuted data and its compact overhead enables the benefit of stacking multiple networks with saving power and area. The proposed design is develop using Xilinx 9.1ISE, Simulated on modelsim 6.3f and implemented on Spartan 3 device.

Abstract: Cost effective solar power can be the answer for all our energy needs. Solar powered smart irrigation systems are the answer to the Indian farmer. This system consists of solar powered water pump along with an automatic water flow control using a moisture sensor and GSM technology. It is the proposed solution for the present energy crisis for the Indian farmers. This system conserves electricity by reducing the usage of grid power and conserves water by reducing water losses. For the security purpose for the agriculture field cost effective laser fencing system is used. This type of security system is environment friendly and uses less power than electrical fencing. This circuit mainly consists of LDR, when there is an interrupt to the beam of laser the system produces a huge noise so that the wild animals run far away from the place. This project will be a design and implementation of a polar single axis solar panel tracker. It will have a fixed vertical axis and an adjustable horizontal motor controlled axis. This setup is similar to an office swivel chair. The tracker will actively track the sun and change its position accordingly to maximize the energy output. To prevent wasting power by running the motor continuously, the tracker will correct its position after 2 to 3 degrees of misalignment. The sensors will compare the light intensities of each side and move the panels until the tracker detects equal light on both sides. Additionally, it will prevent rapid changes in direction that might be caused by reflections, such as cars passing by. A rear sensor circuit is also incorporated to aid in repositioning the solar panels for the next sunrise. The gear motor will have overturn triggers to prevent the panel from rotating 360° and entangling wires. The motor control and sensing circuitry will run on batteries charged by the solar panel. This project will use 10W solar panels of approximately 15 inches by 10 inches to model larger panels used in industry.

Abstract: Overlay routing is a very attractive scheme that allows improving certain properties the routing such as delay or TCP throughput without the need to change the values of current underlay routing. Deploying overlay routing requires the placement and maintenance of the overlay infrastructure. This rises following the optimization problem. Find the minimal set of overlay nodes that the required properties of routing satisfied. In this paper, I study this optimization problem. Showing this is NP-hard and deriving non trivial approximation algorithm for it. I examine the practical aspects of the scheme by evaluating the gain one can get over several real scenarios. The first one is BGP routing and show that , using the up-to-date data reflecting on the current BGP routing policy in the internet, that a relative small number of less than 100 relay server is sufficient to enable the routing over the shortest path from a single source to all autonomous systems, reducing the average path length. Second one is very useful for the TCP performance improvement. And third one is voice-over-IP applications where the small number of overlay nodes can significantly reduce the maximal peer-to-peer delay.

Abstract: This paper presents the idea about radio frequency identification (RFID) technology in library automation. The use of RFID technology is a major factor to create a move towards self service operations and other aspects of improving efficiency in library. The drawbacks of current library automation and the need for new design principles that take advantage of technology such as RFID. The goal of this paper is to find out whether RFID render any significant benefits to library management and how these benefits reflect to customer satisfaction. In this paper we are using the RFID technology for identifying the books and persons based on unique Tag number and Microcontroller which is 89s52 architecture will process the data and sends it to a personal computer side data base in which the data base will be maintained about the person. The GSM sim300 is then interfaced to the personal computer that keeps track of the return date of the books and sends a reminder to the patron.

Abstract: This paper proposes Global System for Mobile Communications [GSM] based security system and automatic lighting system by using 3 degree of freedom [DOF] spherical type Robotic lamp. This integrated security system can provide motion in 3 directions for illuminating, tracking and capturing the movements of the human in confined area as well as to send an additional SMS alert to the concerned authority .The robotic lamp consists of three stepper motors for controlling the direction of orientation and also to control the intensity of light by zooming in and out. Also, it has infrared sensor to identify the location of person. The actuation of motor is done using microcontroller based system. When sensors of the security integrated system detect a person, signals are transmitted to the microcontroller to control the actuation of the motors, and sends SMS to the mobile number through the GSM. Lamp will illuminate, track and captures the movements of the human body. The two major functions of this integrated system are illuminating, tracking and recording the exact location of a person in the security enabled area and instantaneous sending of SMS alert to the concerned telephone number.

Abstract: Economic Load Dispatch is the most important area of power system operation and planning. It is a deputize problem of the optimal power flow (OPF). The main objective of ELD problem is to diminish the overall fuel cost of generating units while simultaneously satisfying the equality, inequality and other constraints. Minimization of fuel cost only is not satisfactorily therefore emission constraints are also considered to minimize the pollutants form thermal units. The power system with large number of generating units is unable to provide a fast and vigorous solution using conventional methods. Thus in this paper, ELD problem is unravelled using a new metaheuristic nature- inspired algorithm called as Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA). The viability of proposed method is tested on numerous test systems like 3, 6, 10 & 13 unit systems and results obtained are compared with other techniques presented in literature. Simulation results clearly show that CS provides accurate solution with high convergence rate.

Abstract: The WSN (wireless sensor network), has attracted researchers attention due to its wide range of potential applications. The sensor nodes may become faulty due to low battery power or some other physical defects. The faulty nodes may badly effect the network performance.  In carousel attack, an adversary sends a packet with a route composed as series of loops, such that the same node appears in the route many times. The attack increases the power consumption of the network and depleting the lifetime of battery. It is providing the security by implementing cellular automata. Due to the prevention of carousel attack, the power consumption is reduced.
