Abstract: The Ho Municipality of the Volta Region is one of the most endemic areas for the neglected tropical disease (NTD), cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL), in Ghana. The knowledge on the perception of the disease by the inhabitants and its vector is essential to design effective prevention and management strategies. Such studies are limited in respect of CL in the Volta region of Ghana. This investigation was designed to administer a structured questionnaire to randomly selected individuals living in the endemic communities, based on previous reports on endemicity of cutaneous leishmaniasis, in the Ho Municipality; Klefe, Taviefe, Matse, Lume Atsyiame, Dodome Dogblome and Dodome Awuiasu. The results revealed that most (88.3%) of the respondents had a reasonable knowledge of the disease but not of the vector. Most of the respondents believed the disease is mainly cured with a particular type of herbs (Hyptis suaveolens (L) Poit) identified by the botanist. Others thought that the use of bed nets (9.0%), weeding and spraying (23.4%) could be helpful in preventing bites from the vectors. Poor knowledge of the vector in the study population emphasize the need to initiate health education and awareness campaigns to minimize the risks of cutaneous leishmaniasis in the future.

Abstract: Jasmine (Jasminum sambac Ait.) is one of the plants which widely cultivated in Indonesia and used as a traditional medicine to cure diarrhea, fever, influenza, shortness of breath, and also act as an antibacteria. The objective of this study is to determine the antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate extract of jasmine flower against the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes and Escherichia coli. This study is a laboratory experimental study with a Randomized Post-Test Only Control Group design. Ethyl acetate extract of jasmine flower is diluted into four different concentration, such as 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The inhibitory potency test against the colony of S. pyogenes ATCC 19615 and E. coli ATCC 25922 was conducted in Laboratorium Kesehatan Provinsi Bali. The inhibition zone is measured by calipers. Data result were analysed by descriptive statistic. The ethyl acetate extract of jasmine flower inhibit the growth of S. pyogenes with the smallest inhibition zone at the 25% concentration (12,75 ± 0,500 mm) and the largest inhibition zone at 100% concentration (15,75 ± 0,500 mm). Ethyl acetate extract of jasmine flower inhibit the growth of E. coli with the smallest inhibition zone at 75% concentration (12,25 ± 0,500 mm) and the largest inhibition zone at the 100% concentration (19,00 ± 1,154 mm). The increased inhibition zone of the bacteria is directly proportional to the increase in extract concentration.

Abstract: the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the world keeps increasing. One of the main trigers of diabates mellitus is obesity. Obesity can be avoided by doing physical exercise dan managing diet. Nevertheless there wasn’t manny studies that explain the extent to wich exercise can affect blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study is to prove that physical exercise can be used to control blood glucose levels. The design of this study is four weeks quasi-experimental group comparison pre-test and post-test with macthing sampling method. The subject of this study are 20 male and 30 female. The data obtained by measurement were body weight, height, and fasting blood glucose. While the data about physical activity and calori intake were obtained by questionaires. The data obtaned by questonaires will  be stratified as controled variable on control by analyze. The analysis result found that data is normaly distributed and homogen. The result of independent t-test shows that there is significant difference between mean fasting blood glucose.

Abstract: Children are vulnerable to injury apart from their developing motor skills, great curiosity leads them to Dangers Often that they have not understood or which they do not Realize. Femoral Fracture is one of the musculoskeletal injury involving the lower extremity with high disability rates throughout the world. The characteristic of femoral shaft fractures in Indonesia is still variable especially in Bali, and only a few conduct research on this. The study aims to Determine the characteristic of femur fractures in children at Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar Bali and conducted with a cross-sectional study on 40 samples of femur fracture of children at Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar Bali from January 2017 to December 2017 using the secondary of data from the patient's medical record. From 40 samples Showed that the majority of sex is a male within 28 people (70%), from the age group most ages 11-years of skeletal maturation were 26 people (65%). About 36 cases (90%) were closed fracture with right side involvement of extremity for 24 cases (57.5%). High energy injury of femoral fractures in children aged less than 11 years was treated conservatively for 10 cases (100%) and 25 cases (100%) treated operatively in age 11 years until skeletal maturity. This research pointed out that age ie characteristic femoral fracture, fracture configuration and mechanism of injury are very important to justify the treatment. Abstract: This study investigated the lived experiences of Marawi evacuees who left Marawi due to the conflict. Interpretive phenomenology, specifically Hans-George Gadamer’s hermeneutic circle was utilized. Eight informants were selected and interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. Applying van Manen’s four lived worlds, five themes emerged, namely: (1) “Shattered Reality” with the subthemes: (a) This Can’t Be Happening and (b) A Light Amidst the Smoke of Dread, (2) “The Missing Pieces” with the subthemes: (a) Barren Hands Reap Futile Harvests, (b) Sifting Through the War-Torn Rubble and (c) There’s No Place Like Home, (3) “Facets of Displacement”, with the subthemes: (a) The Comfort of Compassion, and (b) The Sting of Stereotypes, (4) “Piecing Together a New Beginning” with the subthemes: (a) Tempered Resolve and (b) Sowing the Seeds of Tomorrow, and lastly, (5) Shatterproof Faith. Findings revealed that even in the face of adversity, the resolve to bounce back, tempered by their faith and support from others, enabled the informants to find meaning beyond the fragments left behind by the crisis and work towards a better future.

Abstract: Infertility is an inability to produce offspring. Nowadays, infertility cases is happening to 10-15% of couples that sexually active, and 50% of infertility cases are male factor infertility. Therefore, one of the effort that have been done by many people to increase or maintain fertility is by doing sport, especially running. Several studies claim that running have a bad impact to sperm quality. This study was conducted to find out whether running have a bad impact to sperm quality or not. This study design is experimental post-test only with control group design. The subject of this study are 14 Rattus Norvegicus mouses with wistar strain. This study was conducted by counting the percentage of normal spermatozoa morphology under the microscope. The analysis result found that the data is not normally distributed and homogen. The result of non-parametric test found that there is significant difference between the percentage of normal spermatozoa morphology in experimental group and control group, this can be proved by significance value p < 0.05, other than that the mean value of normal spermatozoa morphology in experimental group is lower than in control group. Concluded that running with moderate intensity have a bad impact to percentage of normal spermatozoa morphology.

Abstract: The peel of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus Polyrhizus) is known  have content  Flavonoid. Flavonoids in the red dragon fruit peel has the potential to be used as a natural antioxidants. This study aims to analyze the effect of  red dragon fruit peel of Malondialdehyde (MDA) plasma level  in wistar rats which were exposed to cigarette smoke. Thirty male rats, aged 2-3 months, weight ± 200g. Divided into 5 groups, K- (Normal), K + (Cigarette Smoke), P1 (Cigarette Smoke and Red dragon fruit peel extract 2g /cc), P2 (Cigarette Smoke and red dragon fruit peel extract 4 g /cc), and P3 (Cigarette Smoke and red dragon fruit peel extract 8 g /cc). Provision of red dragon fruit peel extract and exposure to cigarette smoke carried out for 14 days. The blood was taken on the 15th day and the levels of Malondialdehyde measurement done by the TBARS method. Doses of 2 g /cc, 4 g /cc, and 8 g /cc ethanol extract of red dragon fruit peel can lower MDA levels in wistar rat plasma that exposured cigarette smoke (p <0.05). The mean value of plasma MDA level of group K- is 0.237 , K+ is 0.317, P1 is 0.294 ,P2 is 0.275, dan P3 is 0.26.

Abstract: Anxiety is a mood changes that arises from the absence of externalstimuli. Anxiety disorders can affect the learning process in students because of this disorder a person becomes distorted processing of information. Various studies show that the frequency of anxiety symptoms are quite high in medical students. In Bali, there are no valid data to describe the prevalence of anxiety disorders in medical students.This study aims to determine the prevalence of anxiety disorders instudents in the first & second semester medical education study program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.This study is a descriptive analytic study using a cross-sectionalapproach. Primary data derived from Hars and Coping Strategies questionnaires filled out by respondents who are active students class of 2018 at the Medical Faculty Udayana University. Data analysis using univariate analysis is to describe numerically and graphically the number of cases of anxiety disorders in students of Medical Education class of 2018. In addition, using bivariate analysis, the chi-square test to determine whether there is a relationship between the sexes with anxiety disorders.The results showed there were 72 respondents (54.5%) who experiencedanxiety disorders from a total of 132 respondents. Anxiety incidence is distributed at several levels, 30 respondents (41.67%) experience mild anxiety, 25 respondents (34.72%) experience moderate anxiety, 16 respondents (22.22%) experience severe anxiety, and 1 respondent (1, 38%) experience extreme anxiety. The percentage of female is higher than male who experience an anxiety disorder that is 56.95% for females and 43.05% in males. There is no significant relationship between gender and anxiety, because the p value is obtained at 0.08.
