Abstract: Anaphylaxis is a rapid-onset, multisystem hypersensitivity reaction with potentially fatal outcome. Clinically, anaphylaxis most frequent manifestations are cutaneous. Type A anaphylactic Hypersensitivity reaction is immediate type of reaction that occurs due to release of IgE antibodies and mediators that cause various lesions.

A 26 year old female Patient who was a known case of seizure disorder was presented with chief complaints of burning micturition and abdominal pain due to urinary tract infection and lower urinary tract symptoms. Injection tazomac  was  started to treat Urinary Tract Infection but after Ist dose patient developed Sudden fall in BP, tachycardia, weak thready  pulse, seizures, altered sensorium, angioedema, eye edema, pedal edema as hypersensitivity reaction therefore injection was immediately stopped and specific treatment of adrenaline, dopamine, levocetirizine, pheniramine, lorazepam and phenytoin was started to treat symptoms. Patient was shifted to ICU, ECG was done, which suggest ECG changes, trop – I was done which was suggest Acute Ischemic Changes, cardiology reference was done.  The Patient was well treated and discharged in satisfactory conditions, and was adviced allow up  in cardiology OPD.

Allergic reactions to antibiotics may occur in the form of immediate or delayed hypersensitivity. Immediate reactions are usually immunoglobulin (IgE-mediated whereas non-immediate or delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions are usually non-IgE or T-cell mediated. Healthcare professionals should keep the record of medication history that to which drug patient is allergic so that it can be avoided in future and in case of any ADR it should be reported.

Abstract: Curcuma longa L. (Zingiberaceae), commonly known as turmeric, is native to Southwest India. Curcuma longa L.  rhizomes being the source of a bright yellow spice with various medicinal applications. It is widely cultivated throughout the regions and similarly used for its valuable medicinal importance, in the cosmetic industry, and as a dye. Here in, the medicinal potentials of this plant this plant shows the important photochemical constituents as well as that of one of its bioactive constituents is curcumin, has been compiled. Turmeric can be regarded as a drug for the management of many diseases, such as cancer, microbial infections, diabetes, arthritic, muscular disorders, biliary disorders, anorexia, cough, diabetic wounds, hepatic disorders, sinusitis and inflammation. Curcumin also displayed various pharmacological activities, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetic, anticoagulant, antifertility, cardiovascular, protective ,hepatoprotective, and immunostimulant activities in animals. This research article suggest that how Curcuma longa is effective in a carrageenans induced rat.

Abstract: Antithyroid drugs (ATDs) are a large group of medications that act on the metabolism of the thyroid hormones. They are associated with various side effects such as toxic hepatitis and leukopenia. We report two patients hospitalized at “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Centre in Tirana, Albania as Leukopenia from ATDs. Both patients were middle aged women, in treatment with ATDs that showed signs of fever, sore throat and mild muscular pain during their first examination. In their blood test resulted low white blood cells level and agranulocytosis. They were not taking other medication nor did they have other diseases. Excluding other confounding factors by differential diagnosis, it was concluded that it was their long treatment with ATDs the reason of Leukopenia.  Interruption of the drug and close follow up were needed. In conclusion, ATDs were linked with serious side effects which should be considered in every patient with hyperthyroidism treated with this class of drugs.

Abstract: The most common gynecological malignancy is the Cancer of the cervix and it is the second most frequent cancer in women worldwide. Cancer of the cervix is one of the commonest gynecological cancers in Sri Lanka. Cervical cancer is highly preventable and curable disease when detected and treated early in its precancerous stage. The study aimed to assess the knowledge and barriers of cervical cancer screening among women in selected Public Health Midwives areas. A cross sectional descriptive study was conducted for one year among 380 women aged between 20 and 60 years old. After obtaining written consent, data were collected using a pre tested interviewer administered questionnaire. Frequencies, percentage and associations were calculated. Only 103 (27.1%) of the respondents were aware that Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the implicating agent in the etiology of Cervical Cancer and 124 (32.6%) of the respondents were aware of the vaccine used for preventing Cervical Cancer.  Regarding the knowledge on Cervical  Cancer screening only 3.2% of participants scored adequate knowledge. There was a significant portion of women (87.1%) had never done any cervical cancer screening test. The knowledge on cervical cancer and its screening methods were poor among the participants especially among women who had lower educational status and were in rural area. And also the attendance for pap smear test is very poor in selected PHM areas. There is an imperative need for related awareness programs to promote the uptake of cervical cancer screening tests.

Abstract: The antibiotic Ciprofloxacin is routinely used by urologists, andrologist and fertility specialist to treat such bacterial infections occurring prior to in vitro fertilization treatment, or when high concentration of leukocytes are present in the semen of these patients, irrespective of microbial evidence of infection. In this study, a total of 30 rats were used. The rats were divided into control group and experimental group, the experimental group was divided into two major groups of 12 rats each i.e. therapeutic dose and double therapeutic dose groups respectively, the experimental group (group B and C) received 12.5mg/kg oral ciprofloxacin (Sigma 33433, USA) via gavage, while the double experimental group (group D and E) received 25mg/kg oral ciprofloxacin, the two experimental groups were further divided into two groups of 6 rats each i.e acute and chronic groups. The acute received corresponding dose of ciprofloxacin for 4 four weeks (28 days). The effect of ciprofloxacin was dosage dependent on the kidney. Although there was no histological changes in the renal corpuscles and renal tubules in all the groups, but the study revealed interstitial congestions which were noticed in group D and E due to the use of overdose. It is thereby recommended that prolonged usage of Ciprofloxacin should be avoided and also drug abuse and over dosage with ciprofloxacin should be avoided.

Abstract: Adolescence is the most pivotal period of life (13-19 years) which is susceptible to major reproductive health problems at the time of puberty; hence it is a major concern. Reproductive ill health accounts for over 30% of the overall burden of disease and disability among women and 12% among men globally. This study was aimed to assess the knowledge level of reproductive health and find out association with the selected demographic variables among adolescents girls of Dayanand Sagar International School, Bangalore. The study is non experimental and descriptive in nature which was conducted in a Dayanand Sagar International School, Bangalore, Karnataka State, India. Thirty samples were selected by simple convenient sampling method from 8^th and 9^th standards and a structured questionnaire was provided to collect data regarding knowledge related to reproductive health. The result of the study revealed that the adolescent girls' knowledge on over all aspects of reproductive health was moderate (72.2%). Majority of the subjects (76.6%) have adequate knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system. About 66.6% have moderate knowledge regarding menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Most of them (76.6%) have maximum knowledge in the area of pregnancy and care whereas moderate knowledge in the area of family planning and STDs.

Abstract: Supportive care, and acupressure are measures used during labor process to achieve better outcome, and provide the mother with a sense of confidence and control. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of maternal supportive care and acupressure on labor pain intensity and Apgar score. A quasi- experimental design was adopted in the delivery wards in the Suez Canal University and General hospitals. The study comprised  a purposive sample of 126 parturient women that divided equally into supportive care, acupressure, and control groups. The tools of data collection were; a structured interviewing questionnaire, visual analogue scale, and Apgar score record . The results of the present study showed that, there was a statistical significant difference between supportive care, acupressure, and control groups regarding the mean first minute Apgar score. Also, there was a reduction of labor pain intensity post intervention at cervical dilatation (7-8) cm for acupressure, supportive care groups. It can be concluded that supportive care and acupressure during labor reduce labor pain intensity and elevate Apgar score. The study recommended that, providing a support person with a mother during labor to improve the outcome, and training all the maternity staff on supportive care measures and acupressure.

Abstract: Obstetric fistula disease is a devastating injury that affects women occurring between the vagina and rectum or urinary bladder due to prolonged obstructed labor. The condition is characterized by incontinence of feces and urine, accompanied by physical, physiological and psychological signs and symptoms and other consequences. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design that employed 9 participants to discover the opinions of the diseased women in Sokoto and Zamfara on the perceived impact of low stigma on health-seeking behavior. Based on the goals of the study, after data analysis with Nvivo qualitative software, a theme emerged, which is low-stigma. The result of the theme highlighted that when obstetric fistula patients are handled with dignity, such gestures encourage them to seek health care services in the designated health facilities. Therefore, this study recommended that the federal, states and local government, non-governmental and civil society organizations should work in harmony to provide accessible obstetric healthcare services to the afflicted women. Moreover, the principles and laws entrenching treating people with dignity, especially those individuals with challenges, should be strengthened and enforced; by extension, this will have far-reaching positive impact in health-seeking behavior among the obstetric fistula women.

Abstract: This research applied the theory of reasoned action (TRA) and its extension lead, the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to health-seeking behavior analysis. The purpose of the study was to assess if the variables of the TRA and TPB would predict intentions to participate in cure among obstetric fistula women in Nigeria. Data was collected from 300 respondents relating to the study constructs in Nigeria and was exposed to structural equation modeling analysis. The results of this study indicated that the critical motivation to participation in cure is attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. As a final point, the implication and recommendation of these results were discussed

Abstract: One of the most important things in Forensic medicine is doing autopsy on corpse which has a function to evaluate the internal organs of human body that cannot be assess by external examination. Both are done to estimate the time of death. This study was conducted to find the correlation of vitreous potassium levels and postmortem interval of corpse in Sanglah Central Hospital Denpasar and determine the linear regression of both variables. The study was carried out in two steps, 1) Collection of vitreous samples in Autopsy room of Forensic Department, Sanglah Central Hospital Denpasar, 2) Examination of Potassium levels in Clinical Pathology Laboratory, Sanglah Central Hospital Denpasar. The samples were taken out from lateral limbus of the right eye by using 3 ml syringe and 18G needle. Almost 0.5 – 2.5 ml of clear vitreous was aspirate. This sample then checked by ion selective electrode methods. Ten samples collected have done statistical analysis. The data was normally distributed. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was r=0.810. Determinant coefficient R2=0.656 and linear regression equation was y= 0,81x + 3,659 (y, potassium levels; x, postmortem interval). The equation to estimate postmortem interval by using vitreous potassium level was 1,23[K+] – 4,5. Thus, it is concluded that there is strong correlation between vitreous potassium levels and postmortem interval of corpse in Sanglah Central Hospital Denpasar. The increase of postmortem interval causes the increase of vitreous potassium levels.

Abstract: College students are a group of undergraduate candidates who are taking education at college level, whose daily life is faced with a wide range of demands and responsibilities that can potentially cause students to feel exhausted. This exhaustion will have effects on their health, one of them is in the aspect of sleep quality. Sleep quality is the ability to maintain a good and adequate sleep condition. The purpose of this research is to know whether there is a correlation between the number of cigarettes rods that is consumed to sleep quality in college students. This research is a cross sectional analytic study conducted at Engineering Faculty in Udayana University. Data obtained is primary data using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire that has been modified and analyzed with spearmantest. The number of samples was 55 out of five courses. The results showed that respondents fall into mild smokers and moderate smokers category. Most respondents had poor sleep quality (87.3%). In addition to smoking habits, other common habits that can be found in respondents are alcohol consumption (83.6%) and caffeine consumption (81.8%). In some respondents the habit of using drugs also can be found even though the number of its users aren’t many. The more cigarette rods are consumed, the amount of nicotine entering into the body will also increase and lead to disturbance of sleep stages, resulting in overall decrease of sleep quality. Based on this study, it can be concluded, there are correlation between the amount of cigarette rods consumed and the sleep quality of the students (p<0.05).

Abstract: Oral submucous fibrosis is chronic premalignant disease characteried by juxtaepithelial inflammatory reaction and progressive fibrosis. The jaws become rigid to the point that the person is unable to open the mouth. This condition is associated with areca nut or betel quid chewing.

We evaluated use of nasolabial flap after aggressive release of fibrosis. Patient had undergone physiotherapy   and 1 year regular followup , achieved interincisal opening of >35 mm.

Abstract: The Army is part that is in charge of the defense operations of the Republic of Indonesia in the land Madra. Health is one of the supports in carrying out the defense duties of an Army. The level of health can be determined by nutritional status. One of the assessment of nutritional status is by calculating body mass index (BMI). The disadvantage of measuring BMI is that it cannot measure body fat directly. This study aims to determine the change in army body mass index (BMI) after 10 years of working into the army and body fat mass at this time in members of the Army in KODAM IX / UDAYANA. The study was conducted with a descriptive longitudinal design method. Samples were selected from the population based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using a data analysis program on the computer to get the characteristics of the Army in KODAM IX / UDAYANA based on sociodemography, initial BMI, final BMI, percentage of body fat mass, and analysis of initial and final BMI changes. The results of the BMI distribution study showed that at the beginning of the selection the acceptance of the Army all had a normal BMI (100%) and at the end of the BMI when the study was the highest percentage in BMI overweight categories (52%). From the aspect of body fat mass percentage showed the most in the category of obesity (50.4%). Based on the analysis of changes in BMI there was a change in the majority of late BMI into overweight categories at the beginning of BMI normal category (52%).

Title: Body Mass Index Changes After 10 Years of Work and Percentage of Body Fat in the Army Members in Kodam IX/ Udayana Denpasar Bali

Abstract: The current study aimed to determine the accumulated levels of iron (Fe) in nine fish (Lethrinus nebulosus, Hipposcarus harid, Aphareus rutilans, Siganus rivulatus, Dicentrarchus labrax, Sparus aurata, Argyrops spinifer, Epinephelus tauvina and Sargocentron spiniferum) organs (muscle, heart, gills and liver) collected from Duba, Northern Red Sea coast, Saudi Arabia.  (Febrauary and March 2019).  Fish species and their tissues showed different values for accumulating iron, Hipposcarus harid had the highest iron value and the lowest value was obtained from Siganus rivulatus. The lowest values of accumulated Fe were recorded in the muscle, while the highest values recorded in the liver in nine fish species. Considering all studied fish species and tissues, the average Fe concentrations occurred in the ranges between 2.5– 25.9 (μg/g wet weight). Generally, Fe concentration (μg/g ww) from the examined fish species followed an abundance of: Hipposcarus harid > Sparus aurata>Lethrinus nebulosus> Sargocentron spiniferum >Aphareus rutilans>Argyrops spinifer>Dicentrarchus labrax> Epinephelus tauvina >Siganus rivulatus. However, Fe concentrations in fish species tissues followed an abundance of: liver >heart>gills>muscles. Generally, the values of Fe in the fish muscles were accepted by the international legislation limits and are safe for human consumption.
