Abstract: This research paper examines the development of two warehouse model under the influence of inflation and use of preservation technology for deteriorating goods. This model depends on the stock dependent demand. In this model, goods stored in a rented warehouse charged higher units holding cost as compare to the owned warehouse. Due to the higher holding cost on rented warehouse's goods, seller invests on preservation technology. Firstly, the inventor in the rented warehouse reaches to the level zero due to demand  and deterioration and then the inventory in the owned warehouse reaches to level zero. When the inventory level reaches to zero then the model permits the fulfillment of the goods by using the backlogging depends on the time for the next cycle. This study also determines the retailer's optimal replenishment policy that minimizes total cost per unit time. Total cost function is also affected by the JIT setup Cost. In addition, the research done in this study demonstrates that an optimal solution exists and is unique. A numerical example is displayed for the development of the model and sensitivity analysis has been performed to identify the behavior of model. The results of this study provide managerial insights for enterprises that use a rented warehouse to minimize costs by coordinating lot sizes.

Abstract: This paper discusses the OJT performance of the first batch BIT graduating students of Iloilo State College of Fisheries, Barotac Nuevo Campus in terms of cognitive or job Knowledge, psychomotor or practical skills, and affective or work behavior. Conducted last December 2016 up to March 17, 2017, subjects were distributed in various OJT centers namely; Kalibo, Bacolod City, Cebu City, Roxas City, Iloilo City and Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. Although the results showed that the Bachelor of Industrial Technology graduating students OJT performance were “very satisfactory” in the different domains; cognitive domain (4.09), psychomotor domain (4.05) and affective domain (4.14), significant differences in the OJT performance were noted when grouped according to age and area of specialization. Older group got high performance over younger group, while  Although the OJT performance of Industrial Technology students is highly acceptable, stronger linkages between the college and industries must be strengthened, upgrading of school facilities such as shops and laboratories based on the standards of the industry, retooling of the industrial technology instructors such as immersion locally and abroad were given emphasize and lastly, admission policies need to be revisited as well in order to strengthen curricular programs of BIT. These factors will be considered in the reforms of the Bachelor of Industrial Technology curriculum in order to keep abreast with the demands of the growing industries.

Abstract: It has been realized in the last few decades that ocean and other natural water bodies cannot receive infinitely large volumes of waste materials.  Further the growing need in recent years for the water quality conservation requires monitoring and controlling the entry of these wastes and keeping their concentration below safe levels in the receiving waters.  These have lead to studies to improve current understanding of the diffusion process and for prediction of how much the natural water bodies can disperse and absorb pollutants without causing permanent damage to the ecological system. The accuracy of predictions from mathematical models depend on how well the physical processes are modeled by the governing equations and how good are the methods to solve these problems. Abstract: Neilsen, 2011 (as cited by Abadiano, Bonotan, Makiling, 2014) opines, in the 21^st century, with globalization and the advancement of information and communication technology. The Teachers and Students are among the largest demographic of people using social networking to communicate and often a part of daily activities of college students who use them as central parts of their social and academic lives. In addition, Researchers, Lazala., Galigao & Boquecosa (2013), revealed that, social networking sites have managed to get online support actions from the offline world. The research method used in the study is comparative, correlational, descriptive- research design that is dominantly quantitative. The instruments used in the study were adapted from the studies of Gloria J. Nobles (2011) and Grosseck, G. Hololescu, C (2012). The participants of the study are composed of two groups, permanent teachers and the students of the University. The total population of 4983 participants, was generated using the Slovin formula. In this study statistical measurement employed were Simple Percentage, Weighted Mean. For the inferential statistics; F- test, Linear regression, Pearson r. The study revealed that teachers of ISAT U commended that the impact of social media in terms of quality of technology as moderate. While the students perceived that the impact of social media in terms of quality of technology as high. In terms of utilization of social media, the teachers noted that as moderate and the students suggested it as high. In terms sociological impact, both teachers and students commended that social media in terms of sociological impact described as high. Relationship between quality of technology and utilization of social media was found out significant in this study.  The quality of technology and sociological impact of social media also showed significant relationship. Similarly, the relationship of utilization and sociological impact was found out significant, null hypothesis is rejected. In this manner, the quality of technology, utilization and sociological are important considerations and features on social media in higher education institutions.

Abstract: A cost effective, rapid and convenient method has been established for preparation of activated charcoal from sun dried Wood apple fruit shell as precursors using acetic acid as activating agent which is nontoxic and suitable for treating potable water. The various parameters such as activation time, Concentration and impregnation ratio of the activating agent was analysed. Carbonization was conducted at different temperatures in the range of 300 0C to 450 0C to get the best results in the terms of quality and the yield of activated charcoal. The method was found to be superior compared to other existing methods in terms of its cost, efficacy and ease of preparation.

Abstract: Physical fitness and maintenance of sound health of an individual is directly related to the condition of nutrition. Appropriate nutrition helps man to maintain health and stay fit whereas inadequate nutrition decreases fitness and causes vulnerability to diseases. Constant undernourishment continues to exist widely, especially among women of different age group, because they are trapped in the sequence of poverty, inadequate nutritious food intake and illnesses. Finally, a women health affects the entire household and disturbs economic aspects of the family. A woman with deprived wellbeing will also be less productive in the labour market.

Frequency of anemia in developing countries is high and its occurrence is attributed to deficiency of iron. The nutritional deficiencies prevail more among the low income group. Anemia is very common in India particularly in the women of poor economic section of the country. The tribal women from Gondi Nagar are also lacking behind in decision making policy. The reason can be stated as lack of education as most of them only got the primary education, due to patriarchal society system. Women folk are least cared in terms of consumption and they were not allowed to work outside. They are believed to stay at home looking after the children and do all types of household works except a few. Moreover there is a lack of interaction with outside community so there is no sharing of ideas or knowledge and the male member whoever is working outside never used to talk to them about the different aspect of nutrition requirement in the body. The women lack awareness about the nutrition level which they can receive from different vegetables. Hence the present study on nutrition deprivation among the Gond tribal women resided in Gondi Nagar, Coimbatore district was carried out and the results were highlighted in the article.

Abstract: This paper reveals the common technology-based instructional materials utilized by government ESL elementary and high school teachers, their employment of blended teaching, and their attitudes towards blended learning in terms of internationalizing ESL instruction.  Literature confirms that technology-supported language learning is effective; nonetheless, no studies on Filipino ESL teachers’ familiarity with blended instruction is found; thus, this study is conducted to fill the gap and recommend integration of blended instruction. Data are gathered through crowdsourcing, casual interviews and focus group discussions and interpreted using Spiro’s (2018) and Maxwell’s (2016) frameworks of blended learning. It involves fifty 21 to 60-year-old ESL teachers from Department of Education schools in a region of the Philippines who are found equating blended ESL classroom with technology rich one only, however confirm openness to blended education. It recommends the global approach to the teaching of English in this diverse and fast-changing globalized Philippine classrooms through digital education.

Abstract: Dementia of Alzheimer’s type is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by problems in performing daily living activities (ADL). Researchers further suggested that Basic ADL got impaired in severe stage of DAT and IADL found impaired in mild stage of DAT patient. Moreover, mild DAT patients have problem in dealing with that require focusing and maintaining attention (vigilance). The present study purports to correlate the scores obtained on different cognitive domains with activities of daily living. Hindi version of Mini-Mental State Examination (HMSE) and Everyday Abilities Scale for India (EASI) were administered on patient diagnosed with DAT. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient was calculated between EASI and HMSE scores. The result showed that attentional domain of HMSE was found most predictive of EASI followed by visuospatial, language and delayed recall among all cognitive domains. In sum, the present study suggests that if the MCI and mild DAT patients get training on attentional task such as attentional network task (ANT) that would improve their activities of daily living performance.

Abstract: Normally, groundwater and surface water are used for irrigation and when available water in these sources is taken away by artificial means to supply for the crops, it is called irrigation. Ground water has emerged as the prime source of drinking and irrigation. More than 90 percent, present ground water withdrawal is being used for irrigation purpose thus, contributing largely in food security of the study area. Various types of irrigation techniques different in now, the water obtained from the source is distributed within the study area. In general, the goal is to supply water to the entire field uniformly, so that each plant will get sufficient water, neither too much nor too little. Out of the total geographical area of 1, 49,990.31 hectare of the Tahsil, the landuse statistics are available for about 1, 49,942.43 hectare, constituting 99.96% of the total area. According to the 2015-16, the area under dense vegetation or forest land accounted for 12.11% of the total area, sparse vegetation or forest land at 5.54%, Shrubs or low vegetation 19.29%, Agricultural land at 22.61%, Barren land at 35.00%, Shadow land at 0.27%, Settlement land at 3.22% and area under Water bodies land was accounted at 1.96%.

Abstract: This study aimed to find out the organoleptic characteristics of batuan fruit powder in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor and general acceptability. It determine also the economic parameters of batuan fruit  in terms of weight measurement during the time of harvest, after drying and weight as powder and proper storage. This study started from January 2017 to October 2018 conducted at West Visayas State University Pototan Campus, Pototan, Iloilo. Results of the study revealed that batuan fruit powder either ripe or green are highly acceptable to the evaluators through a sensory evaluation using a five point hedonic scale.  However, green batuan was most preferred which got the highest mean when tested to fish and pork sinigang. ANOVA results revealed that on  pork sinigang among the treatments, there is a significant difference in terms of appearance and no significant differences in terms of aroma, flavor and general acceptability. However, for fish sinigang significant differences existed in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor and general acceptability. In terms of economic parameters, both fruits weighted 1kg. upon harvest were subjected to method of sun drying for one week. However, green batuan has 50% yield  which has a greater shrinkage maybe due to moisture content compared with ripe batuan with 60% yield when dried  . Results revealed that ripe batuan was difficult to ground because of the hard flinty seeds considering the maturity of the fruits. Green batuan powder yield 50% weight when dried and decreased its weight by 50 % when processed into powdered form. However, ripe batuan fruits got 60% yield when dried and processed as powder probably because of the seed which added weight to the powder.  Batuan fruits may be stored in either sealed bags and glass bottled container and can maintain their shelf-life from six to one year either at room temperature or under refrigeration. Results of the evaluation revealed that green batuan powder was most preferred by the respondents and was highly recommended as condiments with appropriate packaging for commercialization considering its high acceptability in terms of appearance, aroma, flavor and general acceptability , ease of preparation and processing.

Abstract: Education is as essential as food and butter for life, the higher education is the backbone of the modern society. It has power to transform human beings into human resources. Higher education institutions are viewed by society as centers that are catalysts in transforming knowledge into wisdom. The role of higher educational institutions is very crucial for development of nation and to make civilized society. Hence the quality, values and ethics in HEIs matters more in bringing young population in to the facet of the society. Country like India has huge youth population and they are frontiers of the Make in India Campaign, which is the mission of Prime Minister of India- Shriman. Narendra Modiji. When India is attracting most of the foreign universities and having good place for them but mean while the quality and ethical values of HEIs in India is deteriorating. The present education system seems like factories which is producing many literate persons but they are unsuccessful in the struggle of life. In present scenario, education means how to earn money or job and the aspect of values and morals is completely neglected. This attitude has increased many perpetual problems in Indian education system. Corruption, privatization, absence of teacher, undue political interference is the probable causes of ethical deterioration of Indian education system. Hence an attempt has been made to analyze the values and ethics in Higher Education and the current scenario in Indian HEIs. Thus there is an urgent need to re-introduce value based education in the curriculum dealing specifically with human values, to redesign the fabric of Indian educational system. In India, it is necessary to increase ethical values, philosophical thinking, study, research and moral development in education system, as it has been well said that, the true philosophy of education lies in the combination of virtues, values and validity of human life.

Abstract: Autobiographical genre plays an important role in the construction of personal identity. Though it is written with the purpose of self- revelation and self-exploration but it also focuses on memoir, anecdotes and some time it also works on ethnography- a large socio-cultural group or the socio-economic hierarchy of bourgeois culture which is also famously known as cultural hegemony- the term or theory coined by Antonio (1891–1937) where the world always follow the path of the fixed sets of norm, ideology or belief, which is created by dominant class and supported the notion of binary opposition where one is always perceived as inferior and other as superior or typically one of the two opposite assumes a role of dominance over other. The purpose of this study is to disclose the darkness in the mind of the black people through a critical examination of the soul of the black folk, causes of their invisibility and an evolution of self- image in the world of dualism. Maya Angelou, through her poem Caged Bird and Still I Rise ,  has not only become the spokesperson for her community but also break away all given oppressive, patriarchal, male dominated order of the society and transform an imaginative space to real space for her and all women.

Abstract: The extreme dependence of Indian agriculture on climatic and weather conditions poses a threat to the livelihood of majority of Indian farmers making agriculture a riskier business. In this context, the need and benefits of crop insurance schemes as an important tool of risk mitigation hardly need any elaboration. Crop Insurance provides a safety net for farmers to mitigate losses arising from climatic shocks and also encourages them to continue investing in inputs and technology to increase yields and household income. For fulfilling this need, Government of India has made experiments and efforts by introducing various schemes of crop insurance from time to time. The latest in the series, PMFBY has launched in 2016.With the emergence of newer and newer schemes of crop insurance in India, farmer participation in these schemes are not yet satisfactory. What is more striking is the high disparity in the coverage of crop insurance across different states in India. In states like Kerala, the coverage is very low where one third of the workforce depends on agriculture and allied activities seem to be paradoxical. In the recent flood fury that has severely impacted a large section of over 19 lakh farmers in Kerala, only a little over 46000 farmers has insured their crops, which reflects that the farmers are still unaware of the details of crop insurance schemes. The poor implementation of crop insurance schemes in many states suggests the need for a state-specific approach in the formulation and implementation of these schemes. This research paper made an attempt to analyse the extent of coverage of crop insurance schemes in Kerala focusing on a micro-level study and identify the demand and supply constraints in the growth of crop insurance schemes in Kerala.
