Abstract: Cannibalisation is a term used commonly in defence aviation wherein serviceable part removed from an aircraft to replace an unserviceable part to make the aircraft serviceable. This research is intended to ascertain and provide comprehensive information about effective management of maintenance loads induced by cannibalisation of aircraft parts. Also, to analyse the maintenance loads induced by cannibalisation, which is otherwise perceived as logistic and supply chain management issues. I will discuss about how this potent tool has been over utilized in the proliferating defence aviation sector in the preceding years and its probable impact on maintenance personnel. This research report has two main sections. Firstly, a proposed mathematical model has been introduced to estimate the amount of additional workload required to perform by maintenance personnel for cannibalisation. Secondly, a survey questionnaire has been formulated to ascertain the effectiveness of managing the maintenance loads induced by cannibalisation. A total number of twenty five maintenance personnel have been participated in the survey. The participants are from defence aviation background with more than ten years of experience in the field. Also, each of them is from different areas of specialisation within the aviation field. The response to the questionnaire is obtained through email and telephonic interviews. Most of the cannibalisations decisions are made primarily due to the shortage of spare parts followed by sudden operational requirements. Fleet readiness is paramount in defence aviation and unforeseen events operational requirements are inevitable.  Weak inventory management is the prime cause and strengthening the same could possibly reduce the dependency on cannibalisation. In defence aviation, the term cannibalisation became an integral part of the maintenance activities and adequate measures are there to manage the maintenance loads induced by cannibalisation.

Abstract: Tendency of earnings management practice approaching merger and acquisition aims to increase share price before stock merger so that it can reduce company purchase cost of acquisition target. Previous research has proven the presence of profit management. While, company size is considered having ability to affect on company value. Since larger size or scale of company will lead to easier company way to obtain sources of funds both intern and extern. This research aims to describe the effects of earnings management on the disclosure of stock return and effects of company size on stock return.

Population in this research is acquisition companies that are registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011-2016. Sampling technique used purposive sampling so there are 40 companies as the research samples. The data used in this research are secondary data taken from ISE website and TICMI. Analysis technique is multiple linear regression, the regression model also has passed classical assumption test.

Results of the research indicate that acquisition company management truly conducts earnings management when publication before acquisition announcement. The earnings management by acquisition companies give negative effects on stock return; meanwhile company size has no effects on stock return of acquisition companies.

Abstract: In India the sudden and unprecedented growth in organized retailing poses a challenge to human resource development. With growing consumerism, unprecedented awareness, and a youth-hefty customer base, India is perceived as “Most Promising Land” for the Global and domestic retailers. According to AT Kearney’s 2007 Global Retail Development Index (GRDI), for the third consecutive year, India remained at the top retail investment destination among the 30 emerging markets across the world. Similarly as per the report of McKinsey Global Institute (2007), India is becoming the world’s 12th largest consumer market in the world. Thus Indian retail market is professed as potential goldmine and is attracting a large number of giant international and domestic players in anticipation of explosive growth. As per report by FICCI (2007) the organized retail sector had reached from 4% to over 20% by 2010, as the overall retail sector grew from $328 billion to $430 billion. With the emergence of organized retailing nature of employment has completely changed in retail.  The skill expectations and performance levels are also much higher. This sector looks for skilled labour. The entire conceptualization of labour is also very different from that in unorganized retailing.

Abstract: Working in a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Industry is not stark easy considering the type of schedule employees have to endure, the straight long hours and work-life that can be scheduled during unholy nights.  This study aims to find out the factors affecting tenured BPO employees that made them stay longer in the said industry considering the nature of work and the type of schedule. The current descriptive study made use of researcher-made questionnaires to gather primary data. The study finds out that most tenured employees value their work and tend to stay long in the company because they do not want to shift to another job, and they are financially satisfied to provide for their family’s basic needs even though they qualify in other high-paying jobs. However, the BPO companies need to offer more incentives and fringe benefits in return to the invaluable service and loyalty of the tenured employees.

Abstract: Research aims at proving that Organization growth considerably depends upon Entrepreneurship in existing organization & Intrapreneurship employee related experiences. There is a sincere effort to prepare a model which include Organizational development dependent on various variables like employee satisfaction and intrapreneurship. Dimensions which were considered for employee satisfaction were work satisfaction, remunerations, employee benefits & peer relations among employees. Conceptual hypothesis was developed and was tested statistically. Structured questionnaires were send to 200 employees of different companies in Oman. Results supported the positive relationship between Organizational growth, Intrapreneurship and Employee satisfaction. Intrapreneurship also have a positive social implication as it increases social wealth. Above research also opens doors for other researcher to extend the research using other variables along with intrapreneurship and employee satisfaction.

Abstract: This study seeks to evaluate the effect of supervisor and co-worker relationships on employee performance in Telecommunication Companies in Kenya. This study used descriptive research design. The target population was 255 employees in the three levels of management, top level, middle level and low level management from 4 Telecommunication Companies in Kenya that include, Safaricom, Airtel, Liquid Telecom and Telekom. Random sampling method was used to sample respondents. Out of 68 employees that were targeted in various categories, 51 responses were received as valid. This constituted 75% response rate. Survey data was collected by use of a structured questionnaire. The data obtained was analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative analysis. From the findings above it was established that Supervisor and co-worker have significant effect on employee performance in Telecommunication Companies in Kenya (t-value=6.623, sig value=0.000≤0.05). Thus we reject the hypothesis that Supervisor and co-worker relationships have no significant effect on employee performance in Telecommunication Companies in Kenya.

Abstract: A competent government and fair rules of governance can facilitate entrepreneurship, encourage investment and sustain business economy. As the government regulations potentially increase equity and efficiency in administrative procedures, the business sector as a whole grows. Similarly, as the government interventions conceivably ensure safety and soundness of the market, the economy as a whole develops. And so why there is a need for an economy like Malaysia to be pursuing to improve regulatory quality and create a competitive business environment were foreign direct investments are attracted? However, most business and other economic regulations are viewed to have been imposing obligations or constraints on business and investment environments as opposed to its intention to provide incentives for mutually beneficial cooperation and opportunities for fairly acceptable competition. As Malaysian Government strike a balance between sustaining a stellar performance of the domestic market while supporting a favorable investment climate given its existing incentive and regulatory regimes, more regulatory reforms are still needed to increase quality of regulations and support the ease-of-doing business initiatives in Malaysia. Although the study did not imply causation, it is enough to establish that higher Doing Business rankings are associated with more foreign investment which in turn generate business, create employment, exchange of technologies, and emergence of innovation, among other, that provide beneficial collateral effects on the economy.

Abstract: This paper addresses two main components, which are international enrolment management plan and the issues relating to policies that are necessary in creating a conducive learning environment for foreign or international students at tertiary institutions. The enrolment management plan is geared towards finding amicable ways in which foreign students could be enrolled and governed in a foreign land. The policies are therefore seen as tools that are used to ensure there is control of international students to adhere to international and national standards and requirements. It is clear that policies at some stages are regarded as discouraging foreign students to go and study in a foreign land.

Abstract: The general objective of this study was to determine the effects of workforce diversity on performance of deposit taking SACCOs in Mombasa County. The specific objectives were to determine the effect of special needs diversity on the performance of SACCOs, to investigate the effect of gender diversity on the performance of SACCOs and to examine the effect of age diversity on the performance of SACCOs in Mombasa County. The population of the study comprised of 64 employees in the three levels of management in all the SACCOs under study. For this study, 55 respondents were selected from 16 deposit taking SACCOs in Mombasa County. Data was collected using questionnaires. Responses were analyzed descriptively using tables, pie charts and graphs. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to test hypothesis while regression was computed to establish the overall effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The study concluded that there exists a positive and significant relationship between special needs diversity, age diversity and organizational performance while the relationship between gender diversity and organizational performance was weak and statistically insignificant.

Abstract: In Rwanda there is need to provide funds to start new businesses and to expand existing businesses and industries. The stock market provides companies and the government with an avenue to raise Stock through the sale of shares and bonds to the public. The stock markets bring together those with surplus funds and those with a deficit and facilitate the exchange of the monies. This has however not gotten to its optimal level due to the following challenges facing the Rwanda stock market. First, in RSE there are a limited number of companies listed in the Rwanda Stock Exchange, the investors in Rwanda have limited investment portfolio and another challenge is the limited access to long term securities. The general objective of this study examined the role of stock market on economic development of Rwanda. This study was adopted descriptive research design. The target population of this study is 12 employees of Rwanda Stock Exchange. The researcher was used an open ended questionnaire as data collection. This means that that researcher collected the data through questionnaire. Researcher was used primary data. The Rwanda economic development has an overall correlation with stock market products of 0.776 which is strong and positive. This means that approximately 77.6% variations of economic development of Rwanda are explained by the stock market products at 5% level of significance. These indicate good fit of the regression equation used. Results indicate that Treasury bond is the most significant in explaining the economic development of Rwanda with a significance of 0.000 which is less that a p-value of 0.05 and beta value is 0.872. Pearson correlation coefficient, (r=0.864) shows that there is a positive and high correlation relationship between stock market and economic development where the P-value (0.000<0.05).  Stock markets also help finance the public sector borrowing requirement while reducing fiscal pressure of debt redemption if maturities of securities are lengthened. To increase the stock market products in the market should ensure an increase in economic growth.

Abstract: This paper aims to shed light on the current condition of corporate and industrial security in Kenya today and the potential for further professionalization through introduction of minimum standards, regulation as well as certifications institutions or organizations. Just like in most other economies, in Kenya, corporate security is just only recently gaining traction as a corporate function. Corporate security managers have always viewed the occupation as being afforded less status and even less rewards than other management functions. Historically, other professions have sought to harness their specialized skills as a commodity to raise their value. This paper suggests that corporate security practitioners in Kenya are enjoying divergent fortunes with some enjoying parity in status with peer functional managers with responsibilities far beyond the traditional remits while most are struggling to attract significant duties, responsibilities and resources to influence the course of business. The appreciation of the role of security in business continuity planning and the endeavour by security practitioners for regulation is slowly but surely leading towards professionalization of the occupation. The paper proposes steps that can be taken by the two associations: Association of Corporate and Industrial Security Managers Kenya and Protective and Security Association of Kenya individually or severally to professionalize the occupation in the country.

Abstract: With increase in competition in the manufacturing sector globally, organizations are pursuing cost containment measures to ensure efficiency and competitiveness. Inventory management has been identified as a critical approach towards attaining this pursuit. It includes aspects such as storage of inventory, ordering the amount of inventory sales and ordering of inventory. It is basically adherence to the 5 Rs of Supply Chain Management (Right inventory, at the right time, in the right quantity, at the right cost and the right place) hence performance. The study purposed to investigate how inventory management influences performance of sugar factories in Western Kenya. Specifically, the study addressed the following objective: To establish the influence of inventory management on performance of sugar factories in Western Kenya. The research employed a descriptive survey and co relational research design. The target population of the study consisted of 268 respondents from the Procurement Department of five Government Owned Sugar Companies. Purposive sampling was applied to categorize the respondents. Primary data was collected using questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and linear regression was used to analyze the data. From the results, the correlation of the mean of inventory management and mean of performance had a beta term β = 0.505, P=0.001. This implies that the value of beta is positive and significant. Basing on this value, it therefore implies that there exists a statistically significant positive effect of inventory management on the performance of sugar factories in Western Kenya. From the results, 25.5% of performance can be explained by inventory management (r2 = 0.255). Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected as there is significant relationship between inventory management and performance of sugar factories in Western Kenya. The study then recommended that management of organization should participate adequately in the inventory management process from inventory planning, supervision, monitoring and assessment. Further, Organizations should have inventory management policies in place in the organization to guide the organization’s inventory management processes and conduct in conjunction with procurement practices.

Abstract: Competition is one of the major factors why most industries do not survive in the long run. Managing costs to ensure effectiveness, enjoy economies of scale, economies of scope and to achieve greater efficiencies has become the driving force of most of organizations. Technology is the key to managing costs in an organization and this study will focus more in the enterprise resource management systems (ERP). Through adoption of this technology, an organization is able to integrate all the internal, external information within the entire organization embracing accounting, finance, management, sales and services, customer relationship management etc hence performance. The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) on the performance of supermarkets I Bungoma County and it also sought to address the following specific objectives; examine the effect of Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) on the performance of supermarkets in Bungoma County. The study employed descriptive survey and correlational research designs. Population of the study involved the eight (8) supermarkets in Bungoma County thus, the study carried out a census of the eight (8) supermarkets in Bungoma County. The target population of the study constituted 16 managers, 16 supervisors, 24 Heads of Departments (HODs) and 699 employees in the eight (8) supermarkets operating in Bungoma Town. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 16 managers, 16 supervisors, 24 HODs and 77 employees working in these stores. Data was collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The following were the study results, Enterprise Resource Planning System had a positive and significant relationship with performance. The coefficient of correlation was 0.537 that is (r=0.537, p<0.05). It was recommended that the supermarkets should invest in technology and that there is need to integrate all core functions of organization and across the various departments this would ensure all organizational needs are addressed thereby saving on time and increase in efficiency.

Abstract: The use of mobile banking has been necessitated by the rapid change in technology. The banking industry has adopted new strategies of sustaining their growth due to stiff competition. The timely convenience, simplicity, safety and quickness in operation that have been brought into play by the inception of comprehensive m-banking ideology has enhanced the need for small and medium enterprises in Kenya to shift from their classical or common ways of carrying business to incorporate the mobile transactions in their business. Hence this study sought to establish how mobile banking has affected the financial performance of SMEs. Specifically, the study sought to determine the effect of mobile banking services cost on financial performance of SMES in Kakamega County. The research was conducted as an exploratory research. The target population of study for this research comprised of the SMEs that provide financial services within the Kakamega County. This study used random sampling technique. A sample size of 373 SMEs was used. Semi-structured questionnaires were used for collecting information from SMEs entrepreneurs. Trained research assistants were contracted to collect data from the field using the sample codes. A pilot study was done using twenty five questionnaires. Data capturing was done using Excel software. The data from the completed questionnaires were cleaned, coded and entered into the computer using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) for Windows analysis. The findings revealed that SMEs used mobile banking services to send and receive money, check account balance, knowing when deposit or withdrawal has been conducted from their bank account. There was negative relationship between cost of mobile banking services and financial performance of SMEs (R=-0.660**). The study recommended that mobile banking services should be affordable to SMEs through exemption of various taxes imposed by the government so as to improve the growth of SMEs in Kenya. This would enable SMEs to use various mobile banking services such payment of bills, accessing of credit facilities to boost their businesses.

Abstract: This study examine &the financial position of top ten drugs and pharmaceutical companies in India during the period from 2006-2007 to 2015-2016 by exploring their liquidity, solvency and profitability position. Statistical tools like Mean, Standard Deviation, Co-efficient of variation, ANOVA, diagrammatic and graphical presentation were used to draw inferences. Compound Annual Growth Rate was used to find out the pattern of their growth. The findings of the study are expected to help understanding their financial position.
