Abstract: With increased security from encryption, and cheaper from decentralizing cloud storage, the blockchain is transforming this business around the world. All industries have storage requirements not only to process but also to compute huge amounts of data. Blockchain-based storage is emerging as a better alternative to traditional cloud storage systems. This study shed lights on public blockchain network in secured file storage and prospects. The study conducted a secondary data analysis based on different academic and public databases and this qualitative study helps to identify some recent cases of using public blockchain network, impacts, and prospects.

Abstract: This study examines the impact of corporate governance on financial performance of listed deposits money Banks in Nigeria. It adopted ex post factor research design, which made the use of secondary data in ensuring that data obtained are sufficient for a reasonable conclusion. Financial performance of banks was measured using Return on Assets (ROA) and corporate governance was measured using three variables: board size, board composition and audit committee size. Partial correlation and regression was used to analyze the data using STATA version 14 and SPSS. The results showed that board size and board composition have a positive and significant impact on financial performance, while audit committee size have positive but insignificant effect on financial performance of Commercial Banks in Nigeria. It also revealed that small board size (board of directors) contributes positively and significantly to the financial performance of Commercial Banks in Nigeria. The study recommends that banks should maintain relatively small board size dominated by outside directors within the provisions of the code of corporate governance for banks but the board should comprise of members, who are conversant with oversight function and having capacity to add significant value in decision making toward achieving greater performance.

Abstract: This study focused on the performance of construction companies in Egypt by deriving a number of a internal management practices. First, this study distinguished the internal variables affecting the financial performance of construction companies in Egypt. A conceptual framework was formulated to investigate the most variables predict the financial performance of construction firms. We have selected financial and non -financial internal factors to be associated. These variables together (independent variables, represent the level of firm and project`s outcomes) with a single factor financial dependent variable represent the profitability, were used to develop a conceptual framework model that focusing in financial performance. our finding show that, owner manager characteristics affects the construction management practices. As well as, management practices is important in the field of construction management practices. In addition, owner manager characteristics affects the management practices. As the first objective from this research is to collect accurate data represents the current situation of construction field, subsequently, this research depends only on the participants who have interviewed rather than working with unstudied sample.

Abstract: This study distinguished the internal variables affecting the financial performance of construction companies in Egypt. A conceptual framework was formulated to investigate the most variables predict the performance of construction firms. Our survey targeted the medium and small size of construction companies in Egypt. Our study focused on survival, therefore, we have concerned about the profitability of the companies. We have selected our variables according to extensive reviews of literature and the status of construction field in Egypt. Therefore, we have shown that the suggested framework including these variables is useful to model the effect of internal variables on the performance of construction firms in Egypt. Therefore, our hypothesis have been enrolled. Our variables include Management practices (MP), Owner Manger characteristics (MC), Company characteristics (CC) and Construction Management Practices CM. Subsequently, to describe these variables, our study associate a wide range of the factors that affect the performance at medium and small scale of firms. These variables together with a single factor financial dependent variable “ROE”, were used to develop a conceptual framework that focusing in financial performance related to profitability. The statistical technique SPSS Package (20) has allowed us to investigate the direct total effect of these internal dimensions on the performance of construction companies. The presented results indicate that Management Practice MP and Construction Management Practices CMP are Predictive variables of financial performance of construction companies in Egypt. However, both dimensions of Managerial characteristics (MC), Company characteristics (CC) are not able to predict the performance of construction companies.

Abstract: Bank of Kigali headquarters in Nyarugenge District served as a case study for this study, which examined the financial performance impact of internal audit. Any financial organization's internal audit department plays a key role in its financial success. It was the primary objective of this research to examine the impact of internal audit on the financial performance in Rwanda, specifically at the Bank of Kigali.. The researcher used a descriptive, correlational, and explanatory study methodology and asked 76 participants from various Bank of Kigali departments to complete a questionnaire. The study employed a universal sampling technique that does not include everyone in the population equally profitable in the sample. Primary and secondary data were both employed in this study to gather the information needed for it. The acquired data was analyzed using a descriptive and correlation study approach. Analyzing data necessitated using metrics like the mean, SD, and Pearson correlation. The data acquired through surveys was analyzed with the help of SPSS version 22.0. The correlation (r) between respondents' views on the impact of internal audit on financial performance was found to be equal to.78. In order to ensure that projects, programs, activities, and functions are efficient and effective, the researchers recommend that Bank of Kigali management make performance audit independent. They also recommend that the bank's financial audit be strengthened by encouraging internal auditors to improve audit procedures such as interviews, observation, and so on.

Abstract: The study evaluates the impact of credit risk management on deposit money banks financial performance in Nigeria from 2011 to 2020. The study used 12 DMBs in Nigeria as sample of the study. The data employed were extracted from the sampled banks annual reports and accounts. Panel data regression was used to analysed the data. The study documented that loan and advances have negative impact on economic value added which was used as proxies for DMBs financial performance. Similarly, the study found that loan loss provision has negative effect on financial performance of DMBs. The study recommended that the management should implement a credit-sound programme that will boost profits. Management should make loans based on strong collateral. Despite the fact that it is a requirement for sound lending, it could provide as a soft cushion for the recovery of nonperforming loans, reducing loan losses.

Abstract: The study evaluates the determinants of capital structures of deposit money banks in Nigeria from 2011 to 2020. The study used 10 DMBs in Nigeria as sample of the study. The data employed were extracted from the sampled banks annual reports and accounts. Panel data regression was used to analysed the data. The study revealed that firm size has positive impact leverage of the sampled DMBs. Similarly, the study found that profitability has positive effect on leverage of DMBs. The study recommended that the management should DMBs in Nigeria should increase size of the banks by acquiring more assets because the study revealed a positive relationship between bank size and leverage. The implication of finding is that as size of firms increase leverage will as well increase. For bank to have access to debt and more deposit management need to expand the size of the bank. Management should as well improve on the growth of the banks by investing more on assets and other investment because leverage providers consider banks growth before providing debts. The marketing units of banks should put more efforts in order to increase the profitability of banks by gaining more customers that will deposit more money in their accounts. They should also provide means of given more gift to customers that have high deposits and leave certain high amount of money in their bank accounts.

Title: THE DETERMINANTS OF CAPITAL STRUCTURE OF LISTED DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS IN NIGERIA

Abstract: The devolved units were created upon the presumption that they will enhance the service delivery to the citizens. However, despite billions of shillings being directed towards development projects; devolved units such as Nairobi City County have accounted for a mere 30% success rate in the project execution. This study sought after the effect of employee competency, organization structure, organization culture and resource capability on project performance. The resource-based view theory and the contingency theory guided the research. The study employed descriptive research design. The study examined projects being undertaken across the 11 departments in Nairobi County. The sample population was 55 personnel in Nairobi. A census sampling technique was employed utilizing both primary and secondary data collected with the use of semi-structured questionnaires and the annual county development plans and Auditor General report. The study utilized both descriptive and inferential statistics (using SPSS 24) in analysing the collected quantitative data. An 89% response rate was attained. The correlation results indicated a positive and significant effect of employee competency, organization structure, organization culture and resource capability on project outcomes. The regression results showed that 45.3% of the project performance in Nairobi County Government are determined by the internal organization environment. The study concluded that employee competency, organization structure, organization culture and resource capability significantly impact the outcomes of projects. Its recommendations will be key when formulating policies within the county government to promote the expansion and proper management of county government projects. Recommendations were for county governments to improve the internal environment through fostering capacity building for the staff, enhancing resource and reputational capabilities, enhancing organization structure and culture which can be integral to increasing project performance.

Abstract: The aim of the study was to determine the influence of project management skills on implementation of SDG projects of WASH in ALIGHT in Kiziba camp. The study focused on establishing how cost management skills, team management, risk management and finally time management skills influences implementation of SDG projects with respect to cost, budget and quality. A descriptive survey research design was used. A total population of project facilitators used. Purposive sampling was used to determine the respondents. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. Both descriptive and SPSS were used for data analysis. The findings indicated on cost management skills, team management skills and risk management skills may be positive or negative and significant influence on implementation of SDG projects in WASH in ALIGHT in Kiziba camp. The study findings also revealed if time management skills had a positive or negative insignificant effect on the implementation of SDG projects. The study findings made different recommends ALIGHT’s  WASH project in Kiziba camp policy makers and the parties involved in project implementation to come up with mechanisms of encouraging managers to sharpen their cost project management skills. Furthermore study recommends that managers should always have documented risk management plans in place. managers should also focus on all aspects of project risk management like risk identification, analysis, responses and risk control and risk monitoring. Finally, the study recommends training managers in time management aspects like project activity definition, time duration estimations and preparation of activity schedules.

Abstract: Insecurity in northwestern Nigeria especially in Zamfara and some parts of Sokoto States have become a dilemma to reckon with. Banditry is one of the disturbing atrocities desecrating the human face of the affected states viz-a-viz  it’s depleting effect on socioeconomic development in the entire Northwest.  The study seeks to assess the impact of Structures and Inter-institutional Collaboration on the Delivery of Security Services in the Banditry-bedeviled Zamfara and Sokoto States. The study used survey method. The population of the study is comprised of Non state actors, Security Agencies (Army, Police and NSCDC), Zamfara (affected communities) and Sokoto (Affected Communities) totaling 3019 out of whcih a sample size of 906 was drawn. Questionnire was administered on respondents. Data was analyzed using simple percentage. Hypothesis was tested using simple regression. The study however dicovered that the quality of services delivery by the Security agencies during the pre and banditery era is not significantly impacted by the structures and institutional collaboration in Zamfara and Sokoto States. The study  concluded that the impact of  structures and inter-institutional collaboration has not enhanced effective security service delivery as far as the fight against banditry in Zamfara and some parts of Sokoto is concerned, that therefore, is indicative of the fact that there is a serious lack of synergy between and among the sister agencies steering the fight against banditry. It was recommended that government at the state and national levels should as a matter of proficiency ensure undiluted synergy between and among security structures and institutions.

Abstract: The study sought to examine the effect of workforce diversity on employee performance at Referral Hospitals in Nairobi, Kenya. The specific objectives were to evaluate the effect of gender diversity, cultural diversity, age diversity and educational diversity on employee performance at Referral Hospitals in Nairobi, Kenya. The study was supported by Equity Theory, Multiculturalism Theory and Symbolic Interactionist Theory. Descriptive research design was adopted and the four referrals hospitals in Nairobi, Kenya formed the population of the study. The study demonstrated that gender diversity had significant (β=0.247, p=0.005) effect on employee performance at Referral Hospitals in Nairobi City County; cultural diversity has significant (β=0.230, p=0.022) effect on employee performance at Referral Hospitals in Nairobi City County; age diversity had significant (β=0.326, p=0.000) effect on employee performance at Referral Hospitals in Nairobi City County; and educational level diversity had significant (β=0.275, p=0.003) effect on employee performance at Referral Hospitals in Nairobi City County. To this effect, the study advocated that policies should be implemented to ensure sensitivity in the referral hospital recruitment to ensure competition for best medical practices. This in turn improve the health conditions of patients and as well reduce mortality rate of patients in the hospitals; hospital authorities should take into account the sensitivity of cultural differences in enhancing employees’ performance in the referral hospitals.

Abstract: The main objective of the study was to establish the influence of strategic planning on the financial performance of listed commercial banks in Kenya. The specific objectives of the study were to determine the influence of strategy formulation on financial performance of listed commercial banks, to establish the influence of strategy implementation on financial performance of listed commercial banks and to assess the influence of strategy evaluation and control on the financial performance of listed commercial banks in Kenya. This study unit of measurement was the departmental heads, departmental supervisors, branch managers and branch supervisors categorized as senior management, middle level management, and lower-level management consisting of 132 respondents. The research study used descriptive research design.A census survey was carried out on all the 11 listed commercial banks in Kenya. A questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument, with both descriptive and inferential statistics performed. From the research findings it was revealed that strategy formulation, strategy implementation, strategy evaluation and control all had positive significant influence on the financial performance of listed commercial banks. Thus, it can be concluded that strategic planning process influence the financial performance of the listed commercial banks. The study recommends that commercial banks adopt strategic planning processes as a way of enhancing their financial performance.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between diaspora remittances and the development of FinTechs in Kenya. The study examined individual diaspora remittances, collective diaspora remittances and the influence of regulatory frameworks to the deepening of financial technology in Kenya. The study used secondary data from the Central Bank of Kenya, Financial Sector Deepening Africa, journals and other referenced publications. From the available literature, there is a strong positive relationship between diaspora remittances and the development of FinTechs in Kenya. Additionally, regulatory framework has an impact on the level of development of financial technology in Kenya. There is need to ensure regulatory framework is in place to promote growth of the dispora remittances and accelerate financial technology.
