Abstract: This study sought to examine the strategies adopted to create a competitive advantage, specifically to determine the effect of Cost Leadership, Differentiation and Focus Strategy on competitive advantage in Doinyo Lessos Creameries Ltd. The researcher used survey research design. The researcher collected information that describes, explores, and quantifies social phenomena, particularly issues, conditions and problems that are prevalent in the society at a particular point in time; it is also a way of describing and explaining aspects of the identified population. The study targeted 108 company employees using a census on all targeted staff. A questionnaire was prepared for the employees to obtain primary data. After collecting data from the different groups and getting different information, the same were sorted out, coded and analyzed with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Scientists. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics involved mean, percentages, and standard deviation. Inferential statistics involved correlation and multivariate regression analysis. The analyzed data was presented using tables and their associated explanations. The findings showed that differentiation competitive strategy and focus competitive strategy had statistically significant effect on competitive advantage of Doinyo Creameries limited. However, the effect of cost leadership on competitive advantage was not statistically significant. The study recommends that the firm should concentrate on differentiation and focus strategies as they have significant effect on competitive advantage.

Abstract: The article identifies striking the right balance between achieving financial stability and maximizing services to beneficiaries as OWWA’s main challenge. While OFW membership fees comprise the bulk of OWWA’s income, the agency directs over half of its annual budget to operational costs. Meanwhile, conservative fund allotment for welfare services ranging from repatriation assistance to life and disability insurance to loan and scholarship programs limits the agency’s capacity to deliver benefits on a meaningful scale.

Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to apply the theories, concepts and processes of Public Personnel Administration in understanding the existence of the “non-career” ambassadors in the Foreign Service, to distinguish the “career” and “non-career” ambassadors in relation to their manner and status of appointment, position classification and tenure of service and to explain the implications of extending the term of the “non-career” ambassadors.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explain, prove, and justify the need for the complementarity that exists between the MSN and the OPAPP as diplomatic actors in the peace processes in Mindanao, by identifying the contributions of MSN to the peace process, and by analyzing the strengths, weaknesses opportunities and threats of both organizations in order to generate strategies for better complementarity. Qualitative Research/Descriptive Analysis research design was used in the study. The researchers gathered relevant data through online and library sources and conducted interviews with MSN and OPAPP representatives and officials who are knowledgeable of the topic. Results showed that the MSN plays a significant supporting role to the performance of OPAPP in attaining peace in Mindanao. On the other hand, the OPAPP, by virtue of the principle of the comprehensive peace process, acknowledges that complementarity, not only among tracks, but also among all citizens, is important to achieve peace. Furthermore, the strengths of MSN complement the weaknesses of the OPAPP through check and balance, spearheading events, open dialogue with the communities and active mobilization. In contrast, OPPAP’s strengths complement MSN’s weaknesses through funding and active collaboration. It can be concluded that the complementarity of MSN and OPAPP, with the former’s supportive nature, has a positive impact on the peace processes in Mindanao. It is recommended for the MSN and OPAPP to strengthen their complementary relationship in terms of collaboration, organization, cooperation, and communication in order to attain lasting peace and security in Mindanao, and eventually in the entire country.

Abstract: This study aimed at contributing to research in determining to what extent macroeconomic factors influence financial performance banks in Kenya. A census of eleven listed commercial banks in Kenya that were in operation from 2012 to 2017, was carried out to gather information on the financial performance of banks. The study concluded that the effect of inflation on financial performance is statistically insignificant. However, with regards to the effect of interest rate on financial performance of commercial banks, the study concluded that interest rate positively and significantly affects the financial performance of commercial banks listed on the NSE, Kenya. The study also concluded that there exist an inverse and significant effect of exchange rate on financial performance of commercial banks listed on the NSE, Kenya. Lastly, on the moderating effect the bank size on the relationship between macroeconomic factors and financial performance of commercial Banks listed at the NSE, Kenya. The study concluded that bank size has a positive and significant moderating effect on the relationship between interest rate and financial performance of commercial banks listed on the NSE, Kenya. Also, the study concluded that bank size has a negative and significant moderating effect on the relationship between exchange rate and financial performance of commercial banks listed on the NSE, Kenya. The study recommends that CBK should manage interest rates adequately in order to avoid its fluctuations as this will hamper performance of banks. Since the study concluded that the effect of exchange rate on financial performance is negative but statistically significant, the study recommends that bank management consider the prevailing and anticipated exchange rates in the economy when making decisions.

Abstract: The tribal group of Mara has a distinct social culture such as dormitory of young men. Dormitory means a culture of young men visit to unmarried girl they admired most and they slept there as group every night until she got married. Such dormitory culture distinguishes Mara tribe from other tribal groups Myanmar and India. From here on, such dormitory culture of Mara will be denoted as dormitory. Dormitory was commonly known as Laipho in Mara. The dormitory had been prevailed in the Mara society since time of immemorial. If the girl got married with a man from the visiting group or someone else, the young men group changed to visit another house of a girl whom they admired again. It is the place for the young men not only the visiting place for their love affair but also a kind of library where they shared indigenous knowledge as a centre of learning social behaviour and moral conduct. The objective of this paper is to explore the influence of the dormitory in Mara society and its evolutionary changes due to the forces of Christianity and modernization.

Abstract: African-American women have a long history of subjugation on the various levels. This race was colonized on the grounds of racism; where Black women were triply marginalized due to race, gender, and class. On the similar grounds, Asian cultures, and Asian women also fought the issue of patriarchy. It was only in the few recent years that they found their foothold in the area of literature and writing at the forefront. The objective of this research paper is to compare the two modern works authored by Indian-American women; Bharati Mukherjee’s Jasmine (1989) and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s Sister of My Heart (1999). It draws parallels on the women characters portrayed in these novels. This paper includes the theory of comparative literature which is the basic theory on the lines of which above mentioned works are analysed. These works also call for the introduction to the genre of Diaspora literature which is the common binding agent of the works along with the fact of having women writers of Indian origin. The aim is to recognize the sensibilities of both the authors and distinguish the features of their respective popular works of fiction.

Abstract: The paper attempts a moral consideration on artificial intelligent. It acknowledged that the progression of artificial intelligence has constituted a lot of things in the 21st century; teaching, war, politics, automobile, telecommunication, economics, social and political system, in fact almost every sphere of mankind. However, this progression as pose some questions on the ethical issues leave many educators wondering how to address moral, ethical, and philosophical issues concerning this use of AI. Among these questions is whether the same ethical standard accrued to man should also be accrued or given to AI (Robot), does AI has any intrinsic value that demands any moral consideration? Beyond these, the study investigates different approaches to AI ethics and how to weigh them. One approach is to the question of “How will we have a tendency to initiate or propose AI systems which will perform ethically?” Another is, “How can we have an inclination to act ethically as programmers and system designers, to decrease the risks that make our systems and codes act unethically?” It is worth noting that philosophers continue to debate the question of whether it makes sense to say that a cybernetic system can be said to be ethical or unethical. Doing this, we employed different ethical theories to make moral judgments to basics ethical issues in AI. For the methodological purpose, the paper shall employ critico-expository approach to examine the subject matter, since man is a product of his experience.

Abstract: This study examined the influence of social media in choosing domestic tourist destinations. 10 working professionals in Makati City were gathered as respondents for the Focused Group Discussion. The findings showed that the average frequency of travel by the respondents is 4 times in a year. This study used the concept of The Customer Journey to Online Purchase, a tool of Google Think Insights by Paul Muret, Director of Engineering of Google Analytics and further interpreted for travel and hospitality industry by Frederic Gonzalo and Push and Pull theory. Decision stage is the level in the decision making that has been taken much attention to and is very much influenced by social media and next is Consideration stage. Moreover, sightseeing variety is the most encouraging factor that pushes an individual to travel, next is seeking relaxation and fulfilling one’s prestige while events and activities in a particular attraction effectively attract potential travelers to visit the place, next is because of great marketing efforts and the history and culture of the destination. The study contributed in careful assessment of decision-making and to precisely identify the purpose encouragement and reason of attraction.
