Abstract: In recent times, there is a growing concern among the researches and practitioners of Islamic Economics systems regarding the rising poverty condition among the Muslim community despite the sharia mechanisms for poverty alleviation. These financial difficulties does not only stop at Muslim states or communities that did not accept the legislation of zakat but transcends to states with active legislation and established institution of zakat. Many theoretical and empirical research indicates problems affection zakat institutions but scholars have identified that these problems are not identical or replica to one another, each community have their issues affecting their zakat management institutions and practices according to their circumstances. Thus, scholars recommends that studies on zakat management problems should be done independently according to each community. This will researchers make sound and feasible recommendation. This study explores the problems affecting the zakat management and practices in Kano. The aim of the study is to for the zakat management institution, the ulamas, researchers, zakat beneficiaries, zakat payers and general public understand his role and contribution towards a better zakat systems to reduce the widespread poverty among the Kano communities and elsewhere with similar circumstances.

Abstract: This study identifies and describes the linguistic taboos related to sexual organs and their corresponding euphemistic expressions among Oromo societies of research areas. To conduct the study, qualitative method was employed. The main instruments of data collection were focus group discussion, unstructured interview and introspective method. The framework of this study is euphemism and politeness theory. The finding of the study revealed that in their daily communication, Oromo society of the research areas prohibit uttering taboos in general and taboo related to sexual organs in particular. This tabooed subject highly unmentionable taboo words which are absolutely forbidden. For this taboo terms the Oromo society of the study areas use euphemistic expressions to mild, roundabout, indirect, polite, inoffensive, agreeable, to make taboo words comparatively less unpleasant association whereas the substituted taboo words are characterized as harsh, painful, unpleasant or offensive. Avoiding taboo words through euphemistic expressions save the speaker or hearer from any feeling of shock. The society of the study areas use distinctive euphemistic expressions for a single tabooed term except some expressions they use in common. In fact, the usage of linguistic taboos and euphemistic expressions related to sexual organ are determined by context of use. Some words are similarly taboo in all research area while some of them have meaning extension, or completely not known. Finally, to minimize problems encountered by taboo word related to sexual organs and sexual acts, further research must be conducted by concerned bodies.

Abstract: The study investigated community management and sustainability of gravity water flow scheme in Rubanda district, Uganda. The study adopted a cross sectional survey and descriptive research design. A descriptive research design was helpful in establishing how community management is essential in ensuring sustainability of the gravity water flow schemes in Rubanda. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches were employed in collecting and analyzing data, which was collected in a snapshot interaction between the researcher and field respondents. The study applied convenient sampling technique to select water users and water committee members. The study established that Community management appeared very insignificant in contributing to sustainability of gravity flow schemes. Efforts to incorporate gender in sustainability have yielded almost nothing. The government does not have adequate staffing to provide repairs and maintenance of rural water , the communities are able to mobilize funds for repairs and maintenance of water facilities but are not good at attracting external funding. The study recommends that Government, through its water and sanitation department at the district level should consider employing technical staff in water management to provide standby services to rural water communities. Community leadership should consider involvement of women in water management, as they are the most important users of the water facilities. Government, NGOs and private sector should train communities in fundraising, proposal writing so as to attract external funding for supporting sustainability of water facilities.

Title: COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY OF GRAVITY WATER FLOW SCHEME IN UGANDA, A CASE OF RUBANDA DISTRICT

Abstract: The study evaluated the contribution of the implementation of peace education curriculum in building peace in South Central Mindanao using the descriptive-predictive research design to the randomly selected 60 respondents using Raosoft method. The study made use of mean, Pearson r Correlation and Stepwise Regressions in the analysis of data gathered. The locale of the study is three (3) Higher Educational Institutions offering Peace Education Curriculum. The (3) three schools produced hundreds of graduates in peace and development. The result revealed that the implementation of Peace Education is very highly extensive. The overall mean for extent of implementation of peace education curriculum in the attainment of peace in terms of foundation of peace and development, philosophical foundations of peace, peace research, development paradigms and culture of peace, human rights and peace, religion and global ethics towards peace and environment peace were very highly extensive. But the social justice and peace, conflict resolution management and transformation, and ethnicity and cultural solidarity were highly extensive. The extent of contribution of peace education curriculum to building peace in terms of building inner peace and building culture respect, reconciliation and solidarity were very highly evident.  But the dismantling culture of war, living with compassion and social justice, living in harmony with earth and promoting human rights and responsibilities were highly evident. The correlational analysis between the implementation of peace education curriculum in the attainment of peace and its contribution to build peace revealed significant relationship. The best predictors that emerged were ethnicity and cultural solidarity, social justice and peace and conflict resolution management and transformation. The study concludes that the schools offering peace education curriculum produce individuals who are peace loving individual that manifested good moral characters and behavior with good peace leadership. The study recommended for intensification of peace education programs in the schools at all levels.

Abstract: Infrastructure development, is an essential ingredient in economic growth, poverty reduction and ensuring broader development goals in any economy. The purpose of this paper is to assess the infrastructure policies and funding programs of ECOWAS that would enable it to achieve its economic objectives. Article 3, Section 1 of ECOWAS Treaty, stated” The aims of the Community are to promote cooperation and integration, leading to the establishment of an economic union in West Africa ; to raise the living standards of its peoples; maintain and enhance economic stability, foster relations among Member States and contribute to the progress and development of the African Continent.” Our research findings indicate that ECOWAS has established infrastructure policies and funding sources which reflect ECOWAS’ infrastructure implementation plans for Information and Communication Technology, Transport, and Energy. However, the programs fall short of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) imitative. The four major obstacles to infrastructure development in ECOWAS are insufficient investment financing in transport and energy sub-sectors stemming from  inadequate Government budgets and prioritization; limited mobilization of potential investment financing from the vast regional natural resources base; inefficient management structures, discordant frameworks  due to lack of requisite technical human resources; and  limited regional dimensions to national infrastructure development. Currently, ACOWAS is receiving some funding from Infrastructure Consortium of Africa (ICA), and other sources. It is estimated that the continent’s infrastructure needs per year is $130– 170 billion; with a financing gap in the range of $68–$108 billion; to bridge this gap ECOWAS will need to initiate PPPs.

Abstract: Ho Chi Minh was a great thinker of Vietnam’s revolution in the twentieth century. Many scientists have studied and proved that Ho Chi Minh's ideology is a harmonious combination between the essences of Eastern culture and Western culture. Ho Chi Minh's ideology on revolutionary morality and individualism is a vivid testament to that wonderful combination. The values of Eastern-Western culture are converged and developed in Ho Chi Minh's ideology, contributing to enhancing and expanding Vietnamese culture in particular, and Southeast Asian and Asian culture in general in the human culture development process. The article analyzes and clarifies the basic contents of: 1. Ho Chi Minh's ideology on morality; 2. Ho Chi Minh's ideology on individualism; 3. Ho Chi Minh's ideology on morality and individualism and assessment on the value of the that ideology toward the development of Vietnam’s and world’s revolution.

Abstract: This paper gives wider knowledge about pervasiveness of availability and accessibility of drinking water in Mudukulathur taluk and how people in the taluk manage the drinking water scarcity through ooranies, bore well water, well water, Kanmois, etc. It brings more of realities that prevail among these villages with regard to how people use their ways and means of fetching water, far away from their residence and the sense of solidarity being established among villagers. Furthermore, it clearly pictures the reality of how people spend and struggle for several hours a day for drinking water.

Abstract: Alzheimer’s is a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking and behaviour. The disease may cause a person to become confused, get lost in familiar places, misplace things or have trouble with language. The case R.P was an 82 year old man. After noticing the major behavioural changes, he was clinically diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. His physical, cognitive and psycho-social functioning was greatly impaired. The effect of Alzheimer’s disease was noticeably high, he showed increased sexual desire and he verbalized inappropriate sexual comments directed toward his female caregiver. So it is difficult for the caretaker to cope with this inappropriate behaviour. His behaviour had worsened with increased frequency. Doctors also prescribed medications to reduce hallucinations and delusions and to treat Alzheimer’s disease. The caretaker was advised to help him have a daily routine and suggestions were given to improve R.P’s day to day functioning.

Abstract: Job involvement is the degree to which a person identifies with his or her job, actively participates in it and considers his or her perceived performance level important to self-worth (Blau and Boal, 1987).

Aim: To determine the job involvement among government and private college professors.

Methods: The population included in the study was government and private college professors. Purposive sampling method was used. Tool used in the study was Job Involvement Scale (JIS) developed by Santosh Dhar and Upinder Dhar (2001). The data was subjected to statistical analysis - Mean, SD’s and t-test and percentage analysis.  

Results: The finding of this study reveal that there is a significant difference in the levels of job involvement and the domain identification with the job between government and private college professors. And there is no significant difference in the domain job centricity between government and private college professors.        Conclusion: Reason why professors are involved more towards private sector may be due to the credibility of their job in terms of the name of the particular institution and its reputation in the society when compared to government colleges that are commonly known for its job instability, lack on incentives other than monetary benefits and so on.

Abstract: The formation and transformation of the canal networks in the city of Chiang Mai, due to the expansion of community that disconnect of the canal network. Then evanescent in people perception and on behalf of the city element. So that, concern with the city planning. In the past, people use a wisdom to manage the canal network and cooperate with the city planning. The canal network is lost naturally even the transformation of the city irrespective of the traditional in a canal network. That event concern with the city planning. However, people use modern technology to solve a tentative problem of the canal network. Moreover, consisting of the extension in a messily tradition community. The reasons above have an effect on some canal network change to be a drainage of wastewater in the city planning. More than that public utility system. Then, rise to a flood problem form the canal network was block.

This thesis according to research in the point of formation and transformation in the city of Chiang Mai, in the sense of the canal network and city planning. The researcher concedes to the reason that influence with the transformation and the canal network in the city of Chiang Mai change. For the purpose of providing the simple method to manage the canal network in the city of Chiang Mai, and accord with the environment of the city. Along with the land use and appearance of the city is the present. The results revealed that a category relation of the canal network has a transformation from a factor of politics, administration, change. Moreover, perform with a land tenure of a government sector, ordinary people and private sector. That the canal network was managed by the government and private sector. So that makes the canal network still fullness. For the canal network with non-government to take care of, that produces the damage of the canal network and be faint from the city planning.

Abstract: African indigenous tribes have populated the Horn of Africa for at least thirteen centuries. While tribal feuds have dominated multiple eras throughout this vast span of history, the introduction of colonialism, followed by the creation of nation states, propelled those rivalries into new realms heavily influenced by foreign powers. The French and Italian colonizers who exacerbated Horn of Africa ancient clan rivalries by splitting native lands into multiple separate nation states diminished tribes abilities to remain cohesive. Today, many competing tribes clash over government positions, military positions, resources, and favor with foreign powers. The result in Djibouti manifested in a highly stratified society that includes a small contingent of highly educated, powerful, wealthy business and political leaders who lead privileged lives, and a massive poor and uneducated underclass held down by apportionment of resources proffered only by tribal affiliation.

Future development of Djibouti and its ability to successfully prevent terrorism in this geopolitically important location relies on governmental and business leadership fostering a more egalitarian society where education, healthcare, and economic opportunities are afforded all citizens, regardless of their ancient tribal heritage.

Abstract: Unemployment in developing countries like Indonesia is more common among young people and those who are educated or often. There are several factors that cause educated disruption to occur in each region. The research to analyze effect of the population of working age, minimum wage, investment directly on economic growth and indirectly on the educated unemployed in Bali. This research was conducted in 9 regencies / cities in Bali that using data from 2012-2019 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of Bali Province. Data analysis technique used is Path Analysis. The results showed that 1) the variable working age population and investment had a positive and significant effect on economic growth, minimum  wages had no effect on economic growth, 2) the number of working age population had a positive and significant effect on educated unemployment, minimum wage and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on educated unemployment, investment has no effect on educated unemployment, 3) The variable of economic growth mediates the influence minimum wage on educated unemployment in Bali.
