Abstract: To explore about learning outcomes and related to academic performance, the study on students’ level of critical thinking skills in Filipino was conducted. Objectively, it sought to identify students’ level of critical thinking skills considering the seven components; analyzing, applying standards, discriminating, information-seeking, predicting, logical reasoning and transforming knowledge. Respondents of the study were first year students of the second semester of SY 2013-2014 enrolled in Filipino 33. Descriptive research design was used and proportionate simple random sampling method was employed. It wass anchored on the theory of constructivism and other concepts that strengthen it. Overall finding of the study revealed fair students’ level of critical thinking skills. Considering the seven components; analyzing, applying standards, discriminating and predicting were fair while information-seeking and transforming knowledge were good but logical reasoning was poor. Furthermore, the findings of this study substantiate the call to revisit the department’s instruction and instructional materials such as the existing syllabi, course outline, scope and sequence, table of specification, textbooks and other reading materials, assessment tools and assessment practices used to address this concern. Innovations in teaching strategies and methodologies related to this are called for. Learning outcomes and learning competencies should be geared toward improving students’ level of critical thinking skill. Hence, constant use of higher order thinking skill questions and classroom activities that enhance students’ critical thinking of students inside the classroom are highly recommended. Abstract: This paper aims to broaden understanding how strategic opportunities for small business to enhance their competitiveness and improve their performance are multiplied when they are located in a trusted safe environment, such as the university business incubator. Evidence from the study of the evolution of a portfolio of high technology firms, with different market maturity and size, supported by a University Business Incubator in the United Kingdom, shows that the incubator environment can enhance the development of social networks that act to create the circumstances and the prolific environment to “make things happening”. A networked incubator can provide tremendous value to a small firm through connections that might help develop crucial strategic partnerships, recruit key people, and obtain visibility. This paper seeks to add to the university business incubator literature by exploring how such an environment enhances the development of internal networks among small firms, supporting the new entrepreneurs during the vital stages of firm foundation, and then facilitating progress towards growth strategies. Abstract: Cambodia where one of ASEAN tourists’ destinations is creating her own famous tourism sites especially architectural complex such as Angkor Wat, Museums, Royal Palace and broadcasting to the world through tourists who come to visit and mass media, and this tourism is considered as a non-smoking industry which playing a key role in making Cambodia economic growth. the arrivals of international tourists have increased for these decades to indicate that this sector is setting up a main potential of economic development for Cambodia. It has an emerging economy with relatively high economic growth and political stability. Tourism is fast becoming Cambodia’s second largest economic pillar generated a good revenue of over 3 billion US dollars which made up approximately 29.9% of country’s GDP after the garment industry. It plays as a crucial factor in facilitating the country’s political and economic development and has been working hard to make capacity of consuming goods and services, boosting other industries to develop, bring back traditional festivals, crafts, and music and dance to survive long last. In addition, it helps boosting economic restructuring of the whole country and each locality, expanding exchange among regions and foreign countries, ensuring security, national defense and social order. Tourists arrivals in Siem Reap province only is close up 2.5 million people to see world heritage, cultural and historic architectures and the number of these tourists is expected to go up yearly because of government policy and ASEAN integration. After ASEAN integration in the end of year 2015, tourists thinking of this region and shifted away from western countries towards Asia and ASEAN. The tourists from Vietnam, South Korea, China, Thailand, France, US and other European countries are the major source of tourism sector for Cambodia. According to a data released by Ministry of Tourism recently in the first semester of 2016, Cambodia still receive international arrival grow up to 6% and the Ministry of Economic and Finance of Cambodia and ADB forecasted Cambodia economic still grow up to 7.2% to make momentum and remain robust, as tourism participates partly to this result. The tourism sector is increasingly important for economic development, and the determinants are crucial for tourism promotion policies. This project develops a dynamic panel model to shed light on the determinants of international tourists in Cambodia. The conservation of heritage and cultural remains is important to attract tourists while natural parks need to be developed and maintained. Cambodia tourism can also increase its market share quickly if the country works more closely with its neighboring countries that have cultures, heritages, and tourism objective in common to promote its destinations. Moreover, its government has to implement an open foreign cooperation to attract foreign and local investment to produce the facilities for tourism destination and development of tourism infrastructure. Tourism products are lacking, because of the visitors continue to grow up year to year, so all accommodations were not enough to meet the tourists demand. Abstract: The study was undertaken to assess the combustion characteristics of briquettes produced from mixed Banana Peelings and Saw-dust as binder. Combustion characteristics investigated were volatile matter, ash content, dry matter base, moisture content, ignition time, burning rate, and water boiling time. The combustion characteristics of banana peelings fuel briquettes was compared with waste paper fuel briquettes due to its only presence on Malawian market though available in small scale. The combustion characteristic of the briquettes produced from these densification (briquetting) variables competed favourably with firewood which is a main cooking energy means in Malawi and account for 96 % in the rural areas and 42% in the urban (Census Main Report, 2008 pp 18). Furthermore, for banana peelings with saw dust and waste paper with saw dust, the volatile matter of was 90±0.5% and 88.3±2.6% respectively and there was no significance difference (P-Value=0.426). The ash content both parameters were 10.1±0.4% and 10.3 ±2.8% respectively and there was no significance difference (P-Value=0.170). Also the dry matter base for both parameters were 90±0.3% and 86.3±6.1% respectively and there was no significance difference (P-Value=0.609). In addition the moisture content for both parameters were 10±0.3% and 13.2±6.1% respectively and there was no significance difference (P-Value=0.609). The ignition time for both parameters were 57.1±0.4 seconds and 39.7±0.4 seconds respectively and there was a significance difference (P-Value=0.000). It was observed that the burning rate for both parameters was 2.5±0.5grams/minute and 2.4±0.6gram per minute respectively and there was no significance difference (P-Value=0.084). Lastly the ash water boiling time for 100cm3 both parameters were 12.6±0.4 minutes and 16.6±0.51 minutes respectively and there was a significance difference (P-Value=0.000 ). The results confirm the possibility of utilizing banana peelings as fuel briquette of good source that support combustion. Thus banana peelings briquettes possess the high material strength as well as high value combustible fuel; hence they can be a compliment energy source to the firewood in Malawi. Abstract: Guangxi is the “bridgehead” between China and ASEAN, and has a deep cultural origin with ASEAN, so, it will be a convenient condition on the cultural cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN. Rely on the favorable condition of geographical location﹑overseas Chinese and cultural, it make Guangxi has the ascendant position compared with other provinces in the cultural cooperation with ASEAN, and plays an important role in the cooperation of China - ASEAN. Face to ASEAN, and the cultural industry of Guangxi implement the strategy of “going out”, all of this not only provides a good opportunity to Guangxi, but also brings a challenge. Abstract: A variety of stakeholders participate in the construction project from the early beginning to the final completion. As construction project is characterized by rather complicated management procedure, the need of relation coordination by various parties during the construction process and long life cycle of the whole project. During its appraisal process, contract responsibility system, percentage quantization appraisal and other appraisal methodologies are generally adopted. Although it drives the whole project in the initial implementation period of these appraisal methodologies, the current condition of market economy can no longer meet the objective demand of the current project performance appraisal as time goes by. The horizontal and vertical comparison of project on the level of management performance in particular, is quite unfavorable, and is thus in need of correction. According to the viewpoint of the theory of stakeholders, interest demand satisfaction of all project stakeholders is exerting an increasing influence on construction project performance. This dissertation exactly takes the theory of stakeholders as the research basis and constructs an index system that adapts to the existing construction project performance appraisal. This system brings a fine representation of demand of all stakeholders, and also further helps the construction project to maximize balanced interests of all stakeholders, displaying the highest overall appraisal score. This dissertation firstly studies basic theories of constructing a performance appraisal index system based on stakeholders, followed by the analysis of appraisal index system of construction project performance on the basis of the theory of stakeholders. On this basis, it constructs performance appraisal system of construction project based on the perspective of stakeholders and offers its econometric model. Abstract: As human population grows coupled with completion and among water users and climate change, there is need for the ASALs to conserve for agricultural use and nonfarm use. This study examines the type of established Water Conservation Projects (WCPs) in Kitui County, which is one of Kenya’s ASALs. This provide ground to analyze the water uses from the WCPs. The study statistically and thematically analyzed responses randomly selected 400 household heads of Kitui County and purposively selected key informants. The study was done in between November 2014 and April 2015. The tools of data collection included: questionnaires, Interview Guide, Focus Group Discussions Guide and Field Observation Guide. Cross-sectional Survey Research Design was used depicting the current state of the established WCPs, the humanitarian organizations behind their establishments and the rationale for their establishments. Results reveal that the established WCPs include earth dams, sand dams, subsurface dams, farm ponds, rock catchment dams and soil moisture conservation trenches. Abstract: This study analyses the water uses from the established Water Conservation Projects (WCPs) in Kituii County, which is one of Kenya’s ASALs. The statistical analysis made use 400 randomly selected household heads of Kitui County who responded to structured interviews in between November 2014 and April 2015. The study further made use of purposively selected key informants to augment data generated through structured questionnaires, Focus Group Discussions and field observation. Cross-sectional Survey Research Design was found useful in depicting the state of farm and nonfarm water uses from the Water Conservation Projects. Results reveal that household heads of Kitui County are involved in water uses from the Water Conservation Projects only in areas that have benefited from self-help groups involved in water conservation with the help of external interveners. Field observations noted growing awareness in agricultural water use and scanty nonfarm water use from the WCPs as the best alternative to rain-fd agriculture to meet household food needs. Abstract: Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s most popular coastal and marine tourism destination and scuba diving tourism has been gradually increasing. Although the tourism sector has been increasing, research has paid very little attention to this phenomenon. This study is the first empirical research focusing on the experiences and levels of satisfaction of scuba dive tourists in Sihanoukville. Mixed methods, using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, were employed in this study by distributing self-reply questionnaires and conducting semi-structured interviews. The results reveal a profile of scuba divers who predominantly came from Western countries with relatively high incomes, ranging from young to middle age groups and mostly travelling alone. There were more males than females. Most scuba divers to Sihanoukville were motivated to see life under the sea and several attributes contributed to their satisfactory experience: taking photos underwater, socialization, watching marine life and seeing rare things which they had never seen before. However, results show other factors that can lead to negative diving experiences such as overfishing, dynamite fishing, and waste disposal. The findings also indicated that scuba divers wish to see future changes such as artificial reefs and wrecks and the outlawing of illegal fishing. This first study on scuba diving in Cambodia offers recommendations for key stakeholders to take into account so that the dive experience can be improved and scuba diving tourism sustained in Sihanoukville. In recent years the overseas direct investment (ODI) from China's textiles industry to the lease developed countries has increased obviously. Under the global economic crisis environment the Chinese textile & garment industry has confronted a very big challenge never met before, and China's government encourages the ODI of the textiles industry further. On the basis of the ODI cases from Jiangsu textiles industry, this paper mainly discussed the effect of the Jiangsu Hongdou Group's ODI in Sihanoukville on the structure adjustment of Jiangsu textiles industry. For a century or so Cambodia was part of the French Indochinese Empire. With growing demands for greater self determination France reluctantly granted a measure of autonomy after WWII to Cambodia and full independence in 1953. In the capital of Phnom Penh there is a large memorial celebrating this independence, and there are versions of this memorial in other towns of Cambodia. There is one such in Sihanoukville, a coastal resort town, 250kms south of Phnom Penh. This memorial was constructed in 1985 and is located in Independence Square. Ceremonies are held there on every January 7th. The authors have studied 68 children admitted with malaria in Sihanoukville Hospital (Cambodia) from December 1992 to April 1993. Sihanoukville is located on coast of the country, in a hypoendemic area with seasonal transmission occurring during this study. The patients lived in urban (1/3) or in rural areas (2/3). Plasmodium (P.) vivid alone was found in 15 cases. Among them, two patients presented with severe malaria, but chloroquine was efficient in all cases. P. falciparum with or without P. vivax, was predominant (53 cases). Most of these cases were severe, according to WHO criteria (n = 43), from which 11 deaths occurred (25%). There were 26 cases of cerebral malaria, with a death rate of 34.6%. A severe course was observed with the following criteria: prostration or coma (p = 0.029), severe anaemia (p = 0.037) and hyperparasitaemia (p = 0.00078). A significant longer delay for treatment and admission was noted among rural patients (p = 0.023 and p = 0.011 respectively). In those children, hyperparasitaemia, poor clinical status on admission and lethality were more frequent. The clinical course was not clearly improved with the addition of erythromycin in the quinine regimen. No quinine resistance was observed in this data. Abstract: This study aims to identify the role and effect of Culture on the translator’s performance in general and to investigate that with reference to the Sudanese context “The Wedding of Zein” by Altayeb Salih, and to show difficulties which face translators in translation of literary terms, so that cultures have differences according to religions and beliefs. Also, it helps translators to know the impact and importance of Culture on Literary Translation to improve their performance in literary translation through paying more attention to the differences of literary terms in cultures so that, translation is a kind of activity which inevitably involves at least two languages and two cultural traditions. As this statement implies, translators are permanently faced with the problem of how to treat the cultural aspects implicit in a source text (ST) and of finding the most appropriate technique of successfully conveying these aspects in the target language (TL). These problems may vary in the scope depending on the cultural and linguistic gap between the two or more languages concerned. Language and culture may thus be seen as being closely related and both aspects must be considered for translation. The researcher has modified the cultural terms in the novel “The Wedding of Zein” by Altayed Salih which weren’t translated in an appropriate way according to the culture of the western countries. Abstract: The collapse of today’s public sectors is becoming unbearable. It is now very difficult for government to conduct any business activity successfully without any form of negligence by its workers. People ignore to adhere to their responsibilities because it is tagged ‘public owned corporations’. However, this study investigates the major problem facing the Nigerian public sectors. To begin with, the research shows that 62.4% of the respondents were male gender while that of female respondents was seen to be only 37.6%. All the respondents are people working under the government with a bachelor’s degree up to PhD level. More importantly, a descriptive research method was used of in this research. This is because a survey was conducted to ascertain the through cause of the decay in the Nigerian public sectors. In other words, a questionnaire was distributed to over 250 employees. The research made use of some prominent Nigerian public corporations such as; Nigerian public schools, the Nigerian police force, and the local Government Area as a case study. Nevertheless, it was statistically seen from the research that the chances of graduates getting employed in the Nigerian public sectors are purely based on whom they know. This is because, 45.4% of the respondents strongly agreed with the fact that recruitment system in Nigeria public industries are based on how connected you are. Only 8.2% was seen to strongly disagree with the claim. Again, the research findings also revealed that employees’ safety is a major issue facing Nigerian public sectors. In other words, nearly 44% concur with the affirmation that workplace in Nigerian public firms are very unsafe while about 3% of the respondents agreed that the workplace in the nations’ government sectors are very safe. It was also made clear from this research that there is a very low training offered by the Nigerian public firms to its staff. Above all, a correlation analysis conducted also made it clear that relationship exist between HRM functions and the productivity but there is less human resources management practice in the Nigerian public sectors because the nation ignore to espouse a common standard of HRM in most of its sectors. Through liberalization of trade and investment regimes conducted over many years ago until now the world at the 21st century; Vietnam has developed profound trade and investment relations with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Since Vietnam join CEPT / AFTA has opened markets, ASEAN has become the main export market of Vietnam to the EU, Japan and USA. Vietnam businesses will more and more opportunities to expand exports to ASEAN countries. ASEAN integration has created a profound change in the public perception of the administration and economic management in recent years. Aiming to build AEC, our country has managed to consolidate trade mechanisms harmonious nature, innovative and transparent. For the business community, ASEAN integration is creating a favorable business environment and trust. Creating confidence for foreign investors in general and ASEAN in particular the commitment to open markets and economic integration of our country. The main conclusion is that regional economic trade liberalization of Viet Nam with ASEAN and its trade partners in the region to exploited enormous potential for cooperation and growth, creating a favorable environment for commercial activities, investment between ASEAN and its partners, aimed to free movement of goods, services and skills and labor of tasks and free movement of capital flows. The realization of the potential benefits of regional trade liberalization would depend on the capability of Vietnam to attract foreign investment through the liberalization of investment regimes and improvements in infrastructures and human resources. In the research finding of this study on increasing trade liberalization with the ASEAN that regional economy offers various opportunities to Vietnam in terms of greater market access for Vietnam’s exports and greater inflows of foreign investment, and trade liberalization contribute positively to aggregate productivity growth in Vietnam impacts of the ongoing regional trade liberalization on the future development and industrialization in Vietnam. Analyzes the implications of trade facilitation also point out the policy of trade facilitation and crucial measures in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) roadmap towards a common market and production in the ASEAN countries. In recent years, the ASEAN members has put great effort to liberalize the service sector within the region and Viet Nam's service commitments in ASEAN, clarifies its implementation of these services commitments until now and draws out some implications to promote participation of Viet Nam in service trade towards AEC 2015. Abstract: Agile and flexible business processes workflow architecture plays an important role in the success of any enterprise. In new era most of the processes are automated and they are supported by IT-Services in the form of Service Oriented Architecture (SeOA) components. Due to mobility and scalability as well as high performance computing and distributed working nvironment it is crucial to focus on an architecture which is agile, optimized, cost effective and easy to implement. In this paper, we have conducted a research study on layer based BPM, SOA and cloud integrated architecture. The main contribution of the research study is to propose an agile, cost effective and scalable solution framework based on Architectural Building Blocks (ABBs) following a SOA-RA layered model to integrate BPM, SOA and cloud services. Abstract: After Vietnamese economic reforms in 1986, Vietnam’s economic is one of countries growing in Asia. Vietnam have been attractive foreign direct investment to reduce poverty of population and Vietnam people more than ninety percent was exited poverty that the policy of government to impact foreign direct investment, Vietnam government expected to benefit the developing countries and implement of the policy “Doi Moi” reform was successful average 8 percent of GDP growth annually. However, each developing country has different initial con ditions and distinctive institutional setups. The forward of this independent of research study is to examine the role of FDI on economic growth in Vietnam by using data in the time series over the period 1968-2006. The period includes the 1990s, when Vietnam launched economic reform Doi Moi (or renovation) and financial liberalization process. The economic indicates that there exists a long-run communication between FDI and economic strong growth up. Our need to research that both FDI and human capital has positive effects on economic growth. The domestic investment in developed by FDI. Nevertheless, the negative effects of interaction terms between FDI and human capital on economic growth show that the low labor skills in Vietnam restrict the contribution of FDI to economic growth. The Government has strategy a long-time on FDI benefit. This will help clear guidelines for foreign investors about government priority given to FDI in short, medium and long term. Some point the lack of clear strategy on FDI that the generated unnecessary confusion for foreign investors determining their long term plans for doing business in Vietnam. The reason why a considerable of number of foreign investors invested in Vietnam for getting short term benefits and immediately, withdrawn their investment when the situation became less favorable. The purpose improvement of the infrastructure some of in poor provinces will be enhancing by attractiveness to FDI investors. The purpose of government need to build infrastructure such as transportation, energy water and also human resource been good service to attractive larger of amount of FDI. Abstract: The purposes of this research were 1) to study the factors that make those decide to visit the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia and 2) to study the opinion of foreign visitor to ancient Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. I was the quantitative research. The instrument which used in qualitative research were interview, sampling group were visitors or tourists who come to visit Angkor Wat 51 persons without specification. I use the descriptive analysis to describt the data as following 1) Collate the data interview 51 persons and cut the data keeping all question which is the significant of factors 2) Organize the data in category 3) conclude and interpret by checking the data as triangles, consider on concordance and distinction of data from organizing data to conclude and interpret in description and 4) The conclusion of qualitative research. The result of research showed that (1) the factors that cause them on decision making to visit Angkor Wat in Cambodia based on famous castle, advertisement, long history castles and (2) if they occasionally have time, they would come to visit the castles in Cambodia, they choose to see the ancient castles, they thought that ancient castles have more value than modern castles, they decided to visited ancient castles in Cambodia base on experience, they felt that the ancient castles are like the world’s heritage, The ticket should be discount, the manner of ticket sellers should be good and special service and They did not decided to visit the castles in developed country more than underdeveloped country while some visitors said that they did not come to visit because of price and promotion of ticket.
