Abstract: The present study aimed to examine the influence of the Big Five personality traits on the quality of family relationships among married couples, with particular attention to the mediating roles of emotional stress and marital depression. It also explored potential gender differences across the study variables. The sample comprised 433 married individuals (145 males and 288 females) residing in the United Arab Emirates. Four standardized instruments were employed: the Big Five Personality Traits Scale, the Family Relationship Quality Scale, the Marital Emotional Stress Scale, and the Marital Depression Scale. The results revealed significant associations between the Big Five personality traits and marital relationship quality. Neuroticism demonstrated a negative relationship with relationship quality, whereas extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness were positively associated. Moreover, emotional stress and marital depression partially mediated the relationship between personality traits and marital relationship quality, indicating that the direct effects of personality traits were reduced when these mediating variables were considered. Additionally, no significant gender differences were found in relationship quality; however, females reported higher levels of emotional stress and marital depression compared to males.

Abstract: English language teaching (ELT) remains a central concern for educators and learners worldwide, particularly in contexts where English functions as a global lingua franca. The effectiveness of ELT depends not only on the adoption of appropriate methodologies but also on the integration of learner needs, teacher expertise, and supportive learning environments. This study explores the essentials that contribute to successful ELT by focusing on key factors such as teacher competence, learner autonomy, curriculum design, classroom interaction, and assessment practices.

Using a questionnaire-based methodology complemented by data analysis, the research examines perspectives from both teachers and students to identify the most influential elements in effective teaching and learning. The findings highlight the critical role of teacher professionalism, communicative and task-based learning strategies, and flexible, learner-centered approaches that encourage engagement and long-term language development. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of reflective teaching practices and meaningful assessment methods that go beyond standardized testing.

The results provide practical insights for educators, policymakers, and institutions seeking to enhance English language teaching. Recommendations emphasize the need for ongoing professional development, context-sensitive pedagogy, and a balanced approach that integrates traditional and innovative strategies to promote successful language acquisition.

Abstract: This study examined the perceived effect of trade liberalization on the procurement process at Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) in Iringa, Tanzania. Guided by dependency theory and strategic choice theory, the research explored how global trade reforms influence institutional procurement practices, transparency, supplier collaboration, and efficiency. Using a descriptive research design, data were collected from 62 staff members directly or indirectly involved in procurement through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS. The findings revealed that trade liberalization is perceived to enhance procurement outcomes by fostering supplier competition, encouraging e-procurement adoption, improving information sharing, and promoting long-term partnerships. However, challenges such as limited institutional capacity, inconsistent inventory management practices, and marginalization of small and medium enterprises were also identified as barriers to fully leveraging liberalization benefits. The study concludes that while trade liberalization significantly shapes procurement practices, its effectiveness depends on institutional readiness, governance structures, and digital transformation. It recommends strengthening institutional capacity, professionalizing procurement staff, supporting SMEs, and investing in digital procurement systems to maximize the opportunities presented by liberalized trade frameworks.

Abstract: As a result of community members, including rural women, using environmental resources randomly and unorganized, many problems, including the depletion of these resources as a result of increased demand due to population increase, rapid population growth, and a continuous increase in the rate of consumption above the natural rate, which led to an increase in the demand for environmental resources. Aim: To assess the cultural factors affecting the increase in the consumption of environmental resources for rural women. Study design, sample and setting: A Social survey by intentional sample of 200 rural women who come to Childhood and Development Association and Caritas association in Al-Fatah at Assiut Governorate was selected in this study. Method: An interview questionnaire was used to collect data from rural women about the factors that affect the increase in the consumption of environmental resources by them, and the aspects of consumption of rural women, including three resources, namely water, air and electricity. Results: The most important aspects of rural women's consumption of environmental resources, which reached a relative strength (69.44%), which is a medium percentage, and the sum of weights is (2.08) and ranked according to the strength of its impact: Water with relative strength came first (77.63%) from the study sample of rural women. In the second order, air with relative strength (75.15%) came from the study sample of rural women. Electricity came in the third order with relative strength (55.53%) from the study sample of rural women.Conclusion and recommendation: Rural women's consumption of water and air was among the majority of the study sample, followed by their electricity consumption, at a rate of about fifty percent. Creating effective communication channels between rural women, the external community, external institutions, and convincing them of the importance of the role of rural women in preserving environmental resources and wealth.

Abstract: This research examines China–Nepal trans-border road infrastructure development political and discursive dynamics, with an eye towards stakeholder-driven narratives, counter-narratives, and the institutionally embedded instruments that condition them. As economic or geopolitical calculation dominates much of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) scholarship, little attention has been directed towards how various stakeholders frame, contest, and legitimate infrastructure discourse. Employing the qualitative case study approach, this research combines stakeholder analysis, historical content analysis of policy documents and agreements, and narrative analysis of secondary sources such as government reports, think tank reports, NGO reports, and newspaper articles. Four dominating narratives—development and connectivity, geopolitical balancing, local livelihood concerns, and environmental/socio-cultural risks—alternatively constructed by governments, communities, experts, and the media are discovered from outcomes. Chinese and Nepali policy-makers are always keen on modernization and win-win cooperation, while domestic actors and NGOs stress environmental risks, debt trap, and displacement. Public rhetoric versus media accounts signify governance gaps and highlight politics of road building. World Bank quantitative indicators and official statistics in Nepal also substantiate perceptions of profligacy and weak institutional checks. By situating the narratives' construction at the interface of instruments, institutions, and contested discourses, the study contributes to a more refined understanding of China–Nepal connectivity projects' socio-political complexity beyond its conventional economic or strategic narratives.

Abstract: This article systematically analyzes the development trajectory, evaluation criteria, and practical implementation of cybersecurity within the national security review process for foreign direct investment conducted by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. The study demonstrates that cybersecurity has transitioned from a peripheral factor to a central pillar in Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States assessments, particularly in transactions involving critical technologies, sensitive data, and critical infrastructure. By continuously expanding review scope, refining risk assessment frameworks, and strengthening enforcement mechanisms, the United States has established the most comprehensive global system for evaluating cybersecurity in foreign direct investment. Building on this analysis, the article proposes policy recommendations for Vietnam to enhance its foreign direct investment cybersecurity review framework, including the development of a legal foundation, institutional mechanisms, risk evaluation protocols, and international collaboration.
