Abstract: Financial literacy has emerged as a critical factor influencing individuals' financial decision-making, particularly in the areas of savings and investment. In the context of increasing financial inclusion and economic participation of women, understanding the role of financial literacy in shaping financial behaviour has become highly relevant. This study examines the influence of financial literacy on the savings and investment behaviour of working women in Ernakulam District, Kerala. The research aims to assess the level of financial literacy among working women and analyze its impact on their financial decisions related to saving and investing. The study evaluates key dimensions of financial literacy, including knowledge of financial concepts, budgeting practices, awareness of financial products, and examines their relationship with savings and investment behaviour.

Abstract: Flexible work arrangements have become increasingly important in the information technology (IT) sector as organisations seek to enhance employee well-being and performance. This study examines the impact of flexible work arrangements on the work–life balance of IT employees. The study employed a quantitative design and collected primary data with the help of a structured questionnaire from 150 IT employees. The findings revealed that employees generally held positive perceptions regarding flexible work arrangements and their contribution to work–life balance. The study concludes that flexible work practices, such as hybrid work, remote work, and flexible working hours, enable employees to balance their professional and personal life more effectively, resulting in improved job satisfaction, reduced stress, and enhanced overall well-being. The findings suggest that the IT sector should continue to strengthen and expand flexible work policies to improve employee productivity, engagement, and retention while fostering a healthy work–life balance.

Abstract: This study examined the influence of stakeholder engagement on the performance of Early Childhood Development (ECD) projects implemented by Solace Ministries in Gasabo District, Rwanda. Specifically, it assessed the effects of communication mechanisms, stakeholder capacity, and participation opportunities on project performance. Guided by Systems Theory and Stakeholder Theory, the study adopted a descriptive research design and a mixed-methods approach. A sample of 133 respondents was drawn from a target population of 199 project officers, local leaders, and beneficiaries using simple random and purposive sampling techniques. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis with MS Excel and SPSS, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically.

The findings revealed that all three dimensions of stakeholder engagement significantly influenced ECD project performance. Communication mechanisms demonstrated a strong positive relationship with project performance (r = 0.880, β = 0.901, p < 0.001). Similarly, stakeholder capacity exhibited a strong positive effect (r = 0.901, β = 0.901, p < 0.001), while participation opportunities showed the strongest positive relationship (r = 0.929, β = 0.773, p < 0.001). The regression model (R = 0.931, R² = 0.866) indicated that stakeholder engagement variables jointly explained 86.6% of the variation in ECD project performance. The study concludes that stakeholder engagement is a critical determinant of ECD project performance. Effective communication enhances coordination, transparency, and trust among stakeholders; capacity building improves stakeholders' knowledge and competencies for effective project implementation; and inclusive participation fosters ownership, accountability, and long-term project sustainability. The study recommends that Solace Ministries and similar organizations institutionalize structured communication systems, continuous stakeholder capacity-building programs, and inclusive participation mechanisms throughout the project cycle. Policymakers should integrate stakeholder engagement standards into ECD and community development policies to strengthen project effectiveness and sustainability. Future research should examine the moderating effects of factors such as leadership, organizational culture, and resource availability, and employ comparative or longitudinal designs to validate these findings across different organizational and geographical contexts.

Abstract: Digital payments are increasingly emerging as a powerful driver of financial inclusion in financial services that are accessed outside the formal banking system by those who are under-served. The purpose of this study is to explore the development and enhancement of financial inclusion with the implementation of digital financial service among rural and semi-urban population of India and the barriers faced while availing the financial service. The research design employed is quantitative and the data collected are from respondents of 150 who are given structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis were used to analyse the data. The results show that the digital payment services have a high positive effect on financial inclusion and increase access to banks and financial services. It also revealed that digital illiteracy, poor infrastructure, connectivity, security are major factors that affect the acceptance and utilization of digital payment technologies. The study calls for further progress in the creation of digital infrastructure and financial literacy to enhance inclusive and sustainable economic development in rural and semi-urban areas of India.

Abstract: The advent of cashless payment methods has resulted in changes in consumer purchasing behavior, leading to the use of plastic money becoming an inevitable part of today's financial transactions. The current study attempts to understand the relationship between plastic money usage and impulse buying behavior along with financial self-control in urban consumers based in the Southern districts of Tamil Nadu. In this regard, a quantitative approach has been chosen and primary data were collected from 590 urban consumers with the help of a well-structured questionnaire. The proposed conceptual framework has been empirically analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings suggest that the use of Plastic Money significantly and positively affects Psychological Gratification (β = 0.719, p < 0.001) and Impulse Buying (β = 0.444, p < 0.001) while having a significant negative effect on Financial Self-Control (β = −0.291, p < 0.001). Psychological Gratification has a significant positive effect on Impulse Buying (β = 0.368, p < 0.001) and a significant negative effect on Financial Self-Control (β = −0.158, p < 0.001). Impulse Buying also has a significant negative impact on Financial Self-Control (β = −0.433, p < 0.001). While Financial Literacy positively contributes to Financial Self-Control (β = 0.310, p < 0.001), it does not have any effect on Impulse Buying (β = 0.037, p > 0.05). Likewise, neither Plastic Money Usage nor Psychological Gratification had any significant effect on Financial Literacy. This research has contributed to the academic understanding of the effects of using plastic money in consumer behavior, behavioral finance, and electronic payments by showing that there is more to the use of plastic money than mere transactional benefits – namely, emotional reactions, impulse buying, and self-regulating one's financial activities. The results are consistent with the premises of Pain-of-Paying Theory and Self-Regulation Theory, thus proving the importance of psychological determinants in financial decisions. Moreover, this research has certain implications for policymakers and financial professionals when it comes to financial education programs aimed at behavioral financial literacy.

Abstract: This study assessed the role of internal control systems in enhancing the financial sustainability of NGO projects in Rwanda, using Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as a case study. The specific objectives were to examine the effects of administrative controls, quality-control activities, control and heritage management, and control accounting on the financial sustainability of NGO projects. The study was motivated by the challenges NGOs face in maintaining financial stability after donor support ends, despite the existence of internal control mechanisms. A mixed-methods research approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. The target population comprised 161 CRS employees, from which a sample of 115 respondents was selected using Slovin’s formula at a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through surveys and financial records and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression techniques to determine the relationship between internal control system components and financial sustainability. The findings revealed that administrative controls have a positive and statistically significant effect on financial sustainability (B = 0.516, p = 0.015), indicating that stronger administrative procedures contribute substantially to sustainable financial performance. Similarly, control accounting demonstrated a positive and highly significant influence (B = 0.381, p = 0.003), highlighting the importance of accountability, transparency, and sound financial management practices in ensuring organizational sustainability. Quality-control activities showed a positive but statistically insignificant effect (B = 0.197, p = 0.295), suggesting that while they support sustainability, their impact is limited unless reinforced by effective administrative and accounting controls. The study concludes that robust internal control systems are critical for enhancing the financial sustainability of NGO projects. It recommends strengthening and standardizing administrative controls, positioning control accounting as a strategic management function, integrating quality-control and heritage management activities into financial planning processes, reassessing audit practices, and adopting a comprehensive systems-based approach to financial management and sustainability. These measures can help NGOs improve accountability, optimize resource utilization, and maintain long-term financial viability beyond donor funding.

Abstract: Implementation of infrastructure development projects in Kenya's energy sector is subject to numerous challenges affecting project performance, including bureaucratic delays, heavy capital requirements, and inaccessible financing. This study examined the influence of project management dynamics specifically stakeholder involvement, project planning, project leadership, and risk management on the performance of infrastructure development projects in Kenya's energy sector. An explanatory research design was adopted, targeting 1,996 employees across 7 infrastructure projects, from which a stratified random sample of 333 respondents was drawn using the Taro Yamane formula. Data were collected via semi-structured questionnaires, validated through construct and content validity, and assessed for reliability using Cronbach's alpha (α ≥ 0.70). Both descriptive statistics and inferential analyses (Pearson correlation and multiple regression) were employed. Findings revealed that stakeholder involvement (β = 0.551), project planning (β = 0.674), project leadership (β = 0.663), and risk management (β = 0.406) each had a positive and statistically significant influence on project performance (p < 0.05). The model explained 61.1% of the variance in project performance (Adjusted R² = 0.611). The study concludes that early stakeholder involvement, comprehensive planning, resilient leadership, and robust risk management are critical determinants of successful energy infrastructure delivery in Kenya. Recommendations include institutionalising stakeholder engagement platforms, deploying project management software, fostering leadership capacity development, and establishing historical risk databases to guide future projects.

Abstract: County governments in Kenya face mounting pressure to modernise service delivery and improve performance amid constrained fiscal resources and growing citizen expectations. This study investigated the effect of digital presence on the performance of the Kitui County Government in Kenya. Four specific objectives guided the research: to explore the effects of digital hardware, virtual communication, digital storage, and data usage on county government performance. The study was anchored on the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the Diffusion of Innovation Theory. A descriptive research design was employed, with a census of all 61 employees in the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology of Kitui County Government. A structured questionnaire was the primary data collection tool, piloted with six ICT staff from Machakos County. Content validity and Cronbach's alpha reliability testing (? = 0.771) confirmed the instrument's suitability. Diagnostic tests for normality (Shapiro-Wilk), multicollinearity (VIF), and autocorrelation (Durbin-Watson) confirmed the fitness of the regression model. Multiple regression analysis revealed that digital hardware (? = 0.263, p = 0.004), virtual communication (? = 0.314, p = 0.002), digital storage (? = 0.229, p = 0.003), and data usage (? = 0.235, p = 0.002) each had a statistically significant positive effect on county performance, collectively explaining 71.2% of the variance (Adjusted R? = 0.712). The study concludes that a robust digital presence is a critical driver of improved service delivery, transparency, citizen engagement, and operational efficiency in county governance. It recommends strategic investment in digital infrastructure, cloud-based storage solutions, structured virtual communication frameworks, and open data initiatives to enhance county government performance.

Abstract: Construction projects in secondary schools across Kenya face persistent challenges of incomplete delivery, cost overruns, and inadequate planning. According to the Auditor General's Report for Homa-Bay County (2024), only 60% of school construction projects in the county are completed, compared to a national comparator average of 90% in counties such as Kericho, Kakamega, and Uasin Gishu  reflecting a significant 30-percentage-point performance deficit. This study determined the influence of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) practices on the performance of construction projects in public secondary schools in Homa-Bay County, Kenya. Specifically, it examined the influence of performance reviews, M&E transparency and accountability, project team involvement, and baseline surveys on construction project performance. The study was anchored on four theoretical frameworks: Stakeholder Theory, Institutional Theory, Resource Dependence Theory, and Goal Setting Theory. A descriptive research design was adopted, employing a semi-structured questionnaire administered to a sample of 310 respondents drawn from a target population of 1,620 stakeholders, comprising Board of Management (BOM) chairpersons, project managers, community members, and school principals. Stratified and simple random sampling were employed. Multiple regression analysis was utilized for inferential analysis while thematic analysis was applied to qualitative data. Findings revealed that, despite limited implementation, all four M&E practices; performance reviews, transparency and accountability, team involvement, and baseline surveys positively and significantly influenced construction project performance. The study concluded that M&E practices are critical predictors of construction project performance in public secondary schools. It is recommended that the Ministry of Education and county governments institutionalize regular M&E frameworks, enforce accountability standards, and build stakeholder capacity in construction project management.

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation are becoming more popular with the Indian pharmaceutical industry as a part of the Pharma 4.0 paradigm to improve operational efficiency as more regulatory and market pressures increase. Nevertheless, there is little empirical data on the way these technologies translate to quantifiable efficiency results. The study will focus on direct, mediating, moderating, and interaction effects of AI adoption and automation adoption on the operational efficiency of Indian pharmaceutical companies. Primary data were gathered among 350 workers (production, quality, R and D, supply chain and technology functions) and processed through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results indicate that AI adoption as well as automation adoption have a significant effect on enhancing operational efficiency. Digital preparedness partially mediates the AI adoption and efficiency relation and employee technological competence mediates the automation and efficiency relation. Significantly, the research reveals a new AI-Automation Paradox whereby the interplay between AI and automation has a negative impact on the efficiency of the operations, which implies diminishing returns as a result of the complexity of the technology and organizational absorption capacity. The framework of Integrated Digital Operations Capability (IDOC) has been proven and promotes the Pharma 4.0 literature due to its capability alignment, rather than single technology usage. The research provides practical information to managers and policymakers on how to create sequenced, capability-based digital transformation strategies to achieve sustainable efficiency benefits.

Abstract: This study assessed the effect of internal audit practices on the financial performance of manufacturing companies in Rwanda, with focus on Bralirwa PLC. The specific objectives were to determine the effect of internal control system, establish the effect of financial reporting, assess the effect of independent assurance, and determine the effect of risk management on financial performance. The study used a descriptive and explanatory research design. The target population comprised 133 employees of Bralirwa PLC, and a sample of 100 respondents was obtained using Slovin's formula. Primary and secondary data were used, while questionnaires supported the collection of primary data. SPSS version 25 was used to generate descriptive statistics, correlation, ANOVA, and multiple regression results. Pilot testing was conducted at Ingufu Gin Company, and the reliability results were above the recommended threshold. The regression findings revealed that internal control system had a positive and significant effect on financial performance (β = 0.269, beta = 0.292, t = 3.773, p = 0.000). Financial reporting also had a positive and significant effect (β = 0.238, beta = 0.264, t = 3.469, p = 0.001). Risk management had the strongest positive and significant effect (β = 0.433, beta = 0.494, t = 5.970, p = 0.000). Independent assurance had a significant negative effect (β = -0.195, beta = -0.177, t = -2.785, p = 0.007). The model explained 72.1% of variation in financial performance. The study concluded that internal audit practices significantly influence financial performance at Bralirwa PLC, with risk management being the strongest predictor.

Abstract: This study examined the effect of stakeholder engagement on the sustainability of National Irrigation Authority projects in Wajir County. Despite significant investment in water projects, many projects in the county remain unsustainable, non-functional, or abandoned, limiting access to reliable water supply for over 70% of residents between 2020 and 2025. The study specifically investigated the influence of stakeholder training, decision-making processes, stakeholder communication, and stakeholder participation in leadership on project sustainability. The research was guided by Agency Theory and Stakeholder Theory and adopted a descriptive research design. Data were collected using semi-structured questionnaires from a sample of 353 respondents selected through cluster sampling from a target population of 3,000 community members. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis, were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that stakeholder training, decision-making processes, stakeholder communication, and stakeholder participation in leadership all had a statistically significant positive effect on the sustainability of National Irrigation Authority projects (p < 0.05). The study concludes that effective stakeholder engagement enhances project sustainability through improved participation, communication, leadership, and decision-making. The study recommends the establishment of effective stakeholder training programs, inclusive decision-making mechanisms, strong communication strategies, and visionary leadership practices to improve the long-term sustainability and performance of water projects in Wajir County, Kenya.

Abstract: Project sustainability has become a major concern for donors and development organizations due to the increasing demand for long-term project outcomes in a dynamic global environment. This study examined the influence of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) practices on the sustainability of projects funded by Self Help Africa in Kenya. Specifically, the study assessed the effects of M&E budgeting, planning, managerial skills, and stakeholder participation on project sustainability. A census approach was adopted targeting completed projects funded by Self Help Africa, involving management staff, accountants, planners, evaluation officers, and project managers. Primary data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including regression analysis and ANOVA. The findings revealed that managerial skills in M&E, stakeholder participation, M&E budgeting, and M&E planning significantly influenced the sustainability of Self Help Africa projects in Kenya. The study concludes that effective M&E practices are essential in enhancing sustainable project outcomes. It recommends strengthening M&E management capacity, ensuring early stakeholder involvement, allocating adequate M&E budgets, and integrating M&E planning during the initial stages of project design to improve sustainability.

Abstract: This paper proposes UmmahConnect, a conceptual multi-sided 4IR digital platform that aims to solve common issues in student event management across institutions of higher learning (IHL) globally. Currently, event information is often scattered across platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and social media, making it difficult for students to discover events and for organizers to manage vendors and sponsors effectively. This study uses the Design Thinking approach, supported by literature review, benchmarking of existing platforms, and the use of Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Value Proposition Canvas (VPC) to better understand user needs and design a suitable solution. The platform connects multiple customer segments (CS), including students as service seekers, event organizers as service providers, and vendors and sponsors as supporting partners within one ecosystem, aligning with the concept of multi-sided platforms. Abstract: People who have digital accounts for banking, trading, and financial investment opportunities. The growing adoption of fintech apps has changed the way investors behave, especially tech-savvy users like IT professionals in Bengaluru. This review paper seeks to reconnect the dots between ABFS and investor behaviour by reviewing large sample of literature spanning the years 2002–2026. This research adopts the key theoretical frameworks: Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), behavioural finance theory and trust theory. The research method adopted was systematic literature review that was carried out by employing Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and peer-reviewed journals. According to the results, the main factors that explain the financial behaviour of adoption and investment are: financial awareness, the digital financial literacy, ease of use, Accessibility, Trust and Security, and Risk perception. The review also highlights some key gaps in the existing research, such as a lack of qualitative research, the absence of longitudinal studies, a narrow provision of emerging market studies, and poor focus on decentralized finance and AI-based investment applications. The paper proposes a conceptual and Structural Equation Model (SEM)-based framework explaining the relationship between technological, behavioural, and psychological factors influencing investor behaviour. Its finding will be valuable for the scientific community as it lays the basis for an integrated framework in understanding the adoption of fintech in emerging economies, and will also be helpful for policy makers, fintech developers and researchers
