Abstract: This study examines the contribution of Inland Container Depots (ICDs) in enhancing Tanzania’s maritime trade, with a focus on Songoro ICD as a case study. Tanzania’s reliance on the Port of Dar es Salaam for maritime trade is constrained by port congestion, high transportation costs, and inadequate infrastructure, which undermine trade competitiveness and logistics efficiency. ICDs offer a strategic response by functioning as inland extensions of seaports, providing storage, customs clearance, and cargo handling facilities. A descriptive research design under a pragmatic philosophy was employed, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods. Data were collected from 85 respondents including ICD operators, customs officials, transporters, and freight forwarders through structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentary review. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative findings were thematically examined. The results demonstrate that ICDs significantly reduce port congestion, lower transport costs, and improve trade facilitation. Specifically, 86% of respondents identified ICDs as critical to maritime trade development, while over 70% rated Songoro ICD as effective or very effective in enhancing cargo clearance and logistics performance. Benefits included faster customs clearance, reduced transportation costs, and improved regional integration. However, barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, inefficient customs processes, limited investment, and slow technological adoption persist. The study concludes that ICDs are vital to Tanzania’s logistics chain and recommends targeted infrastructure development, digitalization, public–private partnerships, and policy harmonization. Addressing these challenges will enable ICDs such as Songoro to catalyze sustainable economic growth, regional trade integration, and environmental stewardship.

Abstract: A specialized definition of change would mean to change the traditional way such as that of an industry whose products are her graduates, especially in a new and effective way such as disruptive technology. Thus, competence of the educationist requires a high level of competency. This is where the price is paid for the crown won at last. Abstract: This study examined the effect of curriculum changes on students’ mathematics performance in public secondary schools in Nyabihu District, focusing on students’ outcomes, teachers’ involvement, and the influence of curriculum improvements on learning. A descriptive research design combining quantitative and qualitative approaches was used. The study involved 230 participants, including head teachers, deans of studies, teachers, and students. Teachers were selected through purposive sampling, while students were chosen using simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using content analysis for qualitative data and SPSS and Microsoft Excel for quantitative data. The findings indicate that the revised mathematics curriculum significantly improves students’ understanding and performance. Specifically, 65.6% of respondents agreed that the new curriculum enhances students’ comprehension of mathematics, with a high mean score of 4.36 (SD = 0.94). Additionally, 73.7% agreed that teacher and administrative support positively influence students’ performance, reflected in an even higher mean of 4.48 (SD = 0.89). The study further showed that teachers’ focus on implementing the curriculum improves learners’ outcomes (mean = 3.43, SD = 1.21). Similarly, students taught by teachers trained under the new curriculum demonstrated better performance (mean = 3.42, SD = 1.11). Overall, the study concluded that curriculum reforms enhance both teaching effectiveness and student achievement in mathematics. It recommends that the Rwanda Education Board (REB) and school administrators strengthen support and monitoring of curriculum implementation, while ensuring that students are well-oriented and adapt effectively to the revised teaching approaches.

Abstract: In West Bengal the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme was introduced in February, 2021 aiming with empowerment of unemployed women in the age group of 25-60 years and also to alleviate poverty. The present study examines how far the scheme has achieved the objective of poverty alleviation by conducting a field survey from Howrah District of West Bengal. It also examines the contribution of Public Distribution System in alleviating poverty. The study finds that both Lakshmir Bhandar scheme and Public Distribution System help in alleviating poverty. It is estimated that the scheme, alone, reduces poverty by 5.39% and PDS, alone, reduces poverty by 2.14%.  Therefore, both Lakshmir Bhandar scheme and Public Distribution System are very much successful in alleviating poverty.

Abstract: The study of wetlands is a major concern these days. There is a significant shift in the wetland ecosystem, both geographically and hydrologically, as well as ecologically and biologically. Wetlands are well defined by their presence of water in a particular region. As it plays a vital role in maintaining the balance between ecology and hydrology and is the primary supporter of biodiversity, it is highly beneficial for sustaining livelihoods that depend on it. To evaluate the spatial-temporal changes in the wetland ecology and hydrology of Vaishali district for the period 2014-2024. Both pre- and post-monsoon conditions were studied using remote sensing techniques with Landsat 8 and 9 data from the USGS Earth Explorer platform. For the depth analysis of the study area, four indices were used: NDVI, SAVI, MNDWI, and WRI. These indices help assess vegetation and extract water features. The study highlights the holistic view of the eco-hydrology of the Vaishali. Where major contractions in vegetation and water have been observed over the decades. Due to annual precipitation, water expands during the post-monsoon season. The study emphasizes the importance of wetlands and their conservation. As the livelihood of the surrounding people depends on it. Day by day, climate change, population growth, and changing land-use patterns directly or indirectly impact the overall health of the wetland. Proper conservation and management help fulfil the Sustainable Development Goals, including those for life below water and life on land.

Abstract: Sufficient knowledge enhances precautionary actions and helps to reduce the spread of a disease. Knowledge regarding COVID-19 refers to the understanding of its nature, causes, risk factors, transmission modes, and preventive strategies. The assessment of knowledge of members of the public in Makurdi Local Government Area is an attempt to explore their awareness about COVID-19 and how they adopted precautionary measures. Makurdi Local Government has an estimated population of about 433,700 persons with eleven (11) council wards and a sample size of 400 respondents was adopted using Taro Yamane (1967) sample size determination formula. The study was predicted on the assumption that Knowledge of the populace about COVID-19 is a significant predictor of adherence to prevention measures in Makurdi Local Government Area. The respondents are found to adopting precautionary measures base on their belief system and perception of an ailment. Thus they turn to adopt precautionary measures based on their knowledge about the disease. The findings revealed that participants have high knowledge of COVID-19 on symptoms, preventive measures and mode of transmission. About 95.75% of the respondents have good knowledge of the symptoms of COVID-19, while 99.9% of the respondents have good knowledge of the preventive measures and 100% of the respondents have good knowledge of the mode of transmission of the disease.

Abstract: The paper will examine the relationship between biopolitical surveillance and practices of the modern state. It will focus on the role of the census as an instrument of biopolitical surveillance, explaining how the systematic collection of demographic data renders the population visible and countable. The article will examine the census practices in the United Kingdom and the United States of America in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The article will show how the census, as a technology of power, played an important role in the process of nation-building in the United Kingdom, and on the other hand, promoted racial discourses in the United States of America. It will conclude that the census, often perceived as a neutral administrative tool, played a significant role in the expansion of biopolitical surveillance and the consolidation of state power in contemporary liberal democracies.
